Hello HRs! So I have this friend who’s trying to land his first formal job for mooonths. He has two licenses and two years of relevant experience, but he’s afraid he’s not getting hired because of his facial scars / defect. His scars are not that noticeable naman na anymore. He can definitely do the job well, I believe. I know hiring is highly subjective, but sometimes, even if you know your appearance/condition won’t affect your work lalo naman kung di client-facing na role, I still wonder if employers see it the same way?

Nagkakaron ba talaga ng discrimination sa hiring process pa lang? Diba trained naman kayo na di magdiscriminate sa work? Ang sad lang. Sabi niya if may lugar pa ba daw sya sa trabaho. May times din na nadiscriminate sya one time ng chinese owner ng inaapplyan nya in front of all the employees and applicants just because he declined the offer to start immediately without a contract + no PC provided :) , or minsan kina-cut sya during the interview, minsan din parang feel nya nadidisappoint yung mga nag iinterview pag nakikita na sya sa personal for on-site interview na. Medj challenged sya sa communication, btw. Pero nakakapagsalita naman at magaling nga mag organize ng thoughts. Hays. I wanna know your thoughts.
