I noticed this moment right after Morocco scored their second goal. The referee makes a hand gesture toward the Canadian players (see screenshot). Some people online are saying he was apologizing to Canada, but I don't know if that's true. Does anyone know what this signal actually means according to FIFA refereeing? Was he communicating with the players, acknowledging VAR, indicating advantage, or something else? If anyone has the video or can explain the Laws of the Game behind this gesture, I'd appreciate it.
