EDIT: EOE gave me a full refund and their customer service was great. I still gotta figure out how to replace the backplate without screwing up the front plate or internals, but maybe I will just keep it this way.

EDIT EDIT: EOE is refunding my ENTIRE order of all my ipod parts which was a little over 100 dollars, and is sending me a brand new backplate free of charge so I will be recommending them once again! Best customer service of anyone.

I just built this iPod a little less than a month ago and I have been extremely careful with it because this backplate was not cheap, and today I wake up and notice this?!? I have no idea how it happened, but I never put it in my pocket and always put it in my little knit iPod sleeve. I even went as far as to buy a clear plastic film to protect it. This does not seem like a 20 dollar backplate and now it looks horrible. Do they have some sort of warranty? Because this is just not acceptable.

The regular back plate with the teal clear faceplate wasn’t doing it for me so I 3D printed one!

I modded my iPod a month or two ago and then installed rockbox, but even though the themes are cool, I just really miss the simplicity and non buggy database of the og fw. I really wanna go back but the only thing stopping me is the fact that rockbox has so much equalization settings that I need bc I am an audiophile, and the stock os equalizer is garbage. Rockbox has been nothing but issues for me and I found that I have to take music off of iTunes and put it on there bc I have spent years making my itunes library perfect. Should I switch back? Or does anyone else use both rockbox and itunes at the same time? Idk what to doooo!

Not my first mod, but it is my first 5th gen, I wasn’t initially planning on getting it but I found a broken one on ebay for 40 bucks and couldn’t pass it up. 30 dollar faceplate from amazon, a 950 mAh battery, and an old 80g 6th gen hdd I had lying around and she is good to go! I could‘ve flash modded it, but I already have a 6g with that so I decided to keep the stock hdd because I kinda miss when my 6g had one because of the weight and I can feel it spin up which is super fun! Anyways just wanted to share this bc I thought its story is pretty cool.

Its an old Thinkpad 755c I found in my basement, great condition and running super old debian and I really want to do something with it, but with an i486 and peak 1994 electronics I don’t think there is anything. Iys just so sick I can lift up the kb and pull out any component I want!

I bought it used like this a year ago and used it consistently since than but ive always wondered why it looks all shiny. My best guess it that is it the lcd layers splitting apart and I am aware that the wierd coloring at the top when it is on is water damage he went swimming in the ocean and miraculously survived. Ive got 3 nanos that all have screen issues and on that needs a new digitizer screen and batt but what is this shiny swirly stuff when its off???

First iPod mod! I was so scared, but it turned out great and everything worked well! This thing is so cool I can see why yall like these things! Maybe someday once my dont break ur really cool new toy nerves wear off ill rockbox it but for now its great!
