Tenure requirement for maternity benefits

Hi all. I’m in the last phases of in reviewing for a corporate role at Marriott but I recently found out I’m pregnant. Can any current employee share whether there’s a minimum tenure requirement to receive maternity benefits? I’m concerned about taking a new job and not having paid leave

STAR questions for corporate role

I’m interviewing for a corporate role at Marriott and I’ve been called in for a STAR format interview with the hiring manager. I’m very familiar with the STAR format but was wondering if anyone is able to share sample questions that are commonly asked so I can prep? Thank you!

I think I need someone to talk some sense into me. I'm seriously considering uprooting my family to move back to London and I keep debating whether my reasons to do so would be strong enough.
I'm Italian born and raised. In 2010 I moved from Milan to London, and was there for 2 years before my company relocated me to LA. I was there for 10 years, met my husband (American) and we both worked in the Entertainment industry. In 2022 we decided we wanted to start a family and that we needed to move away from LA since we couldn't realistically afford a house or daycare. I took a well-paid job that moved us to the DC Metro area, which is about 3 hours drive away from my husband’s family. My husband was able to retain his job remotely until last month, when he was laid off.

So the debate I'm having is: I really love the area I live in but I miss my home and family that I only see once a year. I miss living in Europe where I could be a short flight from so many amazing places.  I'm concerned my husband won't find work here, and other than LA, with his background in entertainment London or NYC would be the only other “hotspots”. And the political situation is really weighing down on me. Though I know (and HOPE!) that the current political situation will change, I'm also not sure I want to raise children in the US. The idea of them having to do shooter drill in school is just unacceptable to me.

I know London is very unaffordable, and I think I remember it a bit with the "rosy" lens of nostalgia of being there in my 20s. Navigating house hunting, NHS, school in a country that is foreign to us both scares me. But I wonder if the job opportunities would be better for us both (a fully paid relocation through my company would be quite easy to obtain for me) and whether the UK is just a better place to grow up these days vs the US.
I'm aware that perhaps my "reasons to move" are not strong enough. I guess if I was still in Italy and I had to choose between moving to London or moving to anywhere in the US - I would choose London hands down. But now that I'm here and I'm well established on stuff like credit score, home ownership, I got my healthcare needs lined up, pension - does it make sense to move just because I think MAYBE my husband's career would be better and because the political situation is giving me extreme anxiety?

I guess my question is - has anyone moved to the UK for similar reason and is happy or regretted it? What are the biggest concerns of living there with a family?
