What in your opinion is the single saddest frame from the whole 3x series?

For me it’s a tie between this and “please don‘t lie to me.”

Hannibal, having his “fuck it, I’m going back to the old me“ moment, is as happy as a clam at this point; wearing a distinctly un-Hannibal-like *Hawaiian shirt*, no less, and playing super-upbeat, un-Hannibal-like music on the harpsicord:

“Yup; my Will is coming back for me“ (I’m paraphrasing, but… 😂)

Mads’ portrayal of Hannibal is so considered; you can tell he’s a dancer as every move in his portrayal is so deliberate.

I’m sure it’s been observed before how rarely Hannibal blinks there’s something beautifully shark-like and predatory in that choice.

In Relevés, there’s a moment when Hannibal has the realisation that he’s going to have to frame Will; and he not only blinks, he closes his eyes to it for a moment- it’s heartbreaking. Then, he opens his eyes again and he’s resolved.

I love this damn show so much!

The above quote is from Sorbet, at which point in the show Will has already been present for several of Hannibal’s murders/tableaux; (albeit not with him killing as the Ripper but in the guise of other killers.) (Am I correct in thinking that the first murder scene Will sees where Hannibal is killing AS the Ripper is Beverly?)

In fact, it’s well into S2 before anyone except Miriam has anything approaching the correct idea as to who the Ripper is.

Will normally has such a clear vision as to who a killer is once he does his “visualisation” at a crime scene, but this quote is so off-base for Will, he sees the Ripper as a sad creature who needs to be put out of his misery.

TL;DR - Simply, I would love people’s opinions on why Will is just so unable to *see* the Ripper in S1 when normally his skills are so finely honed due to his empathic disorder.
