Hannah's green flags

Hi there! We all know how green flag coded Garrett is and in general, almost every character in season 1 is green flag coded as well but tonight I would like us to talk about Hannah and how she acts as a girlfriend. Normally, the attention is around Garrett since we consider it usual for guys to be red flags and he is so green flag (except for some situations imo) and to be fair I would like to say that there are many examples in which Hannah also deserves acknowledgment in this sense:

  1. She is so caring and reasonable giving advice to Garrett especially about issues regarding his father, but not only. The talk in which she makes him see why he must not abandon hockey is so amazing and she could not be bothered since they are no longer a couple but she takes the time to lovingly give him assurance about his career.

  2. She postpones her well being in order to avoid making Garrett lose his game and to focus on her instead of what is important at that moment: to play the game and get it over with. We see her struggling and she is actually not the one responsible for Garrett to do what he does.

  3. She is honest with Garrett and never lies to him or tries to hide her feelings, not only when she makes it clear at the beginning that her interest is on Jordan but also when she goes after him and is actually the one that makes it possible for them to become a couple. She also is honest by asking him for help when she feels they are friends and that is something you could expect from a friend: help.

  4. She is great to puck bunnies and zero jealous even though his now boyfriend has a public image of being a womanizer. She is sure about her feelings but also about his feelings and doesn't need to control him or make jealous remarks about them when they are around.

  5. She knows how to calm him down and make him sure of his abilities, both academical and in terms of sports.

  6. She brings her a safe space where he can actually talk about the things that he has traumas and fears, like no other person has ever done for him.

Which other green flags do you see in Hannah?

Let's talk about this

Hi all! I was rewatching this scene again and I remembered about Garrett's face at this moment, when there are girls from the arts departament gathering outside the dressing room because Garrett Graham is there. My god, his face is a perfect combination of pride and joy and he is so delicious. He loves at that point to be the center of attention and learning that the art girls also like him and see him as a famous person. He is so cool and beautiful smiling like that. For me he is adorable.

Garrett speaking here

Hi again!! In this occasion I want to share with you this edit I found on Instagram (I'm not the author, the author account is @midnightsarchivees) because the song and the lyrics the creator chose to depict this story are for me soooo appropriate.

For me it's like Garrett is speaking because even though it's a girl singing, everything the verse says is exactly what Garrett would think about Hannah and falling in love with her. This experience is absolutely new to him and he is kinda scared for what he is feeling and also excited and knowing already so soon that he will love this girl and also willing to risk his comfort zone for her. I really like the party of the lyrics that go 'you turned into something tragic, just for you I let it haven't because sometimes that is what being in love feels like. You are so comfortable and then you fall in love and it's so beautiful but sometimes sad and you are accepting it all in.

I really love and I'm enjoying discovering new edits about OC because they sometimes have amazing music and I am listening to those songs like if they were part of the soundtrack.

The song is Let It Happen by Gracie Abrams..

What do you guys think about it?

Garrett's curls as protagonists

Well hello again everyone! We all know how beautiful Garrett's curls are and I particularly love that the main male figure of the first season is a curly guy which to my knowledge is not like that in the book. I say this because both Garrett's and Hannah's hair are so beautiful and normal at the same time, zero Hollywood coded.

In this case, I would like for us to talk about his curls and in which scenes you consider them as the protagonists of the moment. There are lots of scenes in which you can not stop admiring Garretts curl and his haircut in general. Here are some of mine:

  1. When in episode 7 Hannah arrives in the green room and caresses his curls which are long and hanging on his face since he is looking down on her. She does it with such care and I really wish I was her.

  2. Of course the shower scene, there is one curl hanging on his forehead when he turns on the shower, could die there and it's the first we see of him.

  3. Both the Kierkegaard presentation and the morning after when Hannah asks him for help are the scenes where I find his haircut to be PERFECT.

  4. When Hannah sees he is beat to shit in the bedroom and he looks down at the bruises and the curls fall down so he has to take them away from his face.

Well, there are many others! Which one do you remember?

This moment with Daveed

Hello all! I would like to share this edit with you (I'm not the author) because I would love us to discuss Daveed assistance throughout the season but in particular this moment which is so deeply emotional. When I saw it for the first time of course I cried a lot and it made me so happy that in that moment of despair and uncertainty the first thought that comes to her mind is that of Garrett always smiling at her. The images they chose for that montage are so beautiful and inspiring, perhaps their best moments together. Plus, there is one in which he smiles after the Kierkegaard presentation which doesn't appear in the episode am I right?

I really enjoyed Daveed character. Alongside with Hannah's mother, they are both secondary but so important and meaningful in her life. There is not a chat with Daveed in which Hannah doesnt end enlightened. Plus, he is so happy for her at the end.

This edit contains a lot of other images which are so nice and really let you understand the scope of this relationship, so deep, so strong, so unique. I love them so much. ♥️

What do you guys feel about this?

What do we think about this second

Hi everyone! I leave you this shot so we can discuss feelings and thoughts about this second when Hannah has already turned around, they are facing each other and Garrett makes a step closer to her. She is facing his chest since he is so tall and then (we don't see it in the picture of course) he lowers down to her height. I think this is the moment I fell in love with them even before watching the series and then, as I was watching it, it felt so beautiful and emotional and daring. It's like a second in which THEY KNOW they are not there for Jordan, they are there for THEM and what is about to happen has to do with THEM and nobody else, but they can't say it out loud yet so they say it with their eyes. Her eyes are so gorgeous in this scene and they are always going back and forth to his eyes and his mouth, I'm dying.

What do you guys think or feel about it.

The hottest moment of the season

Hello all! I come here today with a bit shallow proposition but it is just that I can not unsee how hot this moment is. I am talking about the scene in the montage in which they enter Hannah's bedroom and as she takes her clothes off Garrett grabs her by the waist and looks closely at her (damn) and then proceeds to take off his hoodie and his shirt. There is a second there that should be analyzed by doctors and academic specialists because it definitely stops my heart for a bit. The way he puts his shirt down is som sexy and incredible and then the camera shifts to another scene but that is sufficient to kill me.

Which are your favourite hot scenes?

Scenes that made you cry

Hello everyone! I can not let go of this story. I realized today that it made me so emotional in so many ways more than I expected. I also realized that as I rewatched it (I only watched twice completely but some scenes separatedly lots of times) I found myself crying at parts that I hadn't cried before or wasn't supposed to cry. And my crying went from some tears to full sobbing that I couldn't stop. As I rewatched for the second time, I had already seen some scenes so many times from edits or so that I was convinced I would not feel as much as to cry but then did every time without forcing it. I was wondering if something like that happened to any of you and in which scenes you were most emotional or crying for.

The scenes that made me more emotional were always connected to the music that started playing right at that moment and I can mention these:

  1. When they agree to the deal on episode 1

  2. When they begin the show me, and I'll show you scene on episode 4.

  3. When Daveed tells Hannah there must be someone like this in your life and she imagines different memories with Garrett on episode 7.

  4. The Fade into You intro on episode 8.

  5. Today I cried to Hannah's song at the Pop showcase on episode 8, which I hadn't done before and I couldn't stop sobbing.

I am waiting for yours!

Garrett Graham greenest flags

Hello all! I want to relive this reddit sub if we can, it's a bit quiet and even though I understand it's logical for it to quiet down as time goes by, we can always enjoy some new discussions about this amazing show.

Tonight I would like to propose to you to discuss the green flags of Garrett. We know he has some interesting flaws (like we all) but he has some really important green flags that are (sadly) not so common. Which one are your favourites or the ones you enjoyed the most?

These are some that I can think of right now:

  1. one that I really liked was that when Wellsy was suffering with her and Jumanjis song he said that he believed in her and he reassured her that it was her art too, not only his.

  2. Of course, one of the most discussed is the not until you want me to, which is definitely something that can turn you on when you are with someone.

  3. I would add the jacket he puts around Hannahs arms at the Bloc Party. We know he is acting at that moment but he could have gone without doing so (just like Jason) and he doesn't. He observes things other guys don't.

What do you guys think? What would you choose?

I really want that guy to be me - Analysis

Hello all! I was just watching an edit of the part where Garrett gives Hannah his big speech to try to recover her (who wouldn't want to). I realized that this is actually the first time Garrett pursues someone and tries to convince a girl of why to stay with him. We know that girls up until Hannah always came up to him without him even having to do anything.

But this time, he took a bad decision (or perhaps a decision that he thought was necessary at that time) and needs to fix it so that is why he is the one that is most desperate (so to speak) to convince Hannah. I saw that he even does a small gesture with his eyebrows (so amazing) like of total despair and need for Hannah to give in. I think it's a wonderful ending (so far) to their relationship in which he also started begging to her for something completely different.

It's actually the first time he fights not only for a girl in general but also for Hannah. When he thought he had lost her to Jordan, he didn't and Hannah had to make the first move. But now it's him fighting for her.

What do you guys think?

What is Garrett's best feature through the season?

There are plenty of things that make Garrett a wonderful character. Which ones would you choose as the ones that stand out for him? Could be physical or could be personality traits. I believe there are of every kind.

For me, physically of course his facial expressions and his smile. There are many others, couldn't choose one, but I think that these make him different from every other hottie we may know. Just a few can act in silence so well!

In terms of personality traits, I love that he is a man who can learn from his mistakes. He does it several times on the season, for example with Kendall (although he hasn't done anything wrong with her), with Logan at the end of episode 8 and with Hannah after the break up and wanting to do better. I also love that he is so caring and attentive to Hannah's needs (that sometimes include others, for example making sure that Allie is safe). But the capability of learning from his mistakes is definitely one of his best features.

What do you guys think?

The hands throughout the entire season 1

Hi everyone! I have to make this post cause I just saw a beautiful edit on Instagram that depicts that the real protagonists of this story are the hands. The idea seemed to me so original and so obvious at the same time, but I hadn't even thought about it.

From the moment Garrett says in Malone's that holding hands is not going to get them too far with the fake dating, everything starts revolving around their hands at all times.

I'm going to mention some of my favourites, please be my guest to do the same with yours:

* When Garrett says "now it is your favourite part' and extends his hand to hold hers at Dean and Beau party in episode 2. He even caresses hers with his thumb a bit.

* When Hannah holds his hand under the table after Dean asks about Papa Graham in episode 6.

* When we see them holding hands while making love in the montage in episode 5.

* When they are kissing in Malone's after the make up and he is grabbing her shoulder so softly, episode 8.

* When during foreplay in episode 4, they lie down in bed and Garrett caress her arm and her cheek.

There are plenty more, which ones do you remember fondly?

Best Garrett's faces and facial expressions

Well, this is a matter to which I'm sure many of us have devoted quite a lot of time. But, as time goes by, I find it nice to keep remembering some of the best features of this show and Belmont's acting is definitely one of them. In this case, I would like for us to remember, mention, debate, some of Garrett's best facial expressions. You can mention the ones that have already been discussed hundreds of times or the ones that go unnoticed but are still so refreshing. In this case, I will leave you mine to start the topic:

Joyful / Happy:

* The final smile/ laugh he makes at Hannah after paraphrasing Kierkegaard. There is something going on with his throat like he is finally swallowing relief.

* The smile he makes at Hannah when they are dancing in the bedroom, just before she turns around and gets closer to him. I think he says something like 'yeah' but I can't really tell cause im lost in his big smile.

* The smile of disbelief and excitement he makes when Hannah agrees to the deal at the end of episode 1.

Sexy / Seductive:

* When he tells Hannah 'this is the part where I tell you all the things I wanna do to you' he makes a soft frown with his forehead. Dying.

* The face of the 'what do you want Wellsy' is perhaps the sexiest of the entire season?

* The 'not bad' face in the gym. Why is he capable of being so sexy with his fucking voice?

Moved / Emotional:

* The almost crying face he makes after the conversation with Hannah in the rink in the last episode. He exhales a small breath that was coming from so deep.

* The face of total broken heart and loneliness he has when he is inside his Jeep and going through Hannah's Instagram. His face is lit by the light of the cellphone and we see he is totally sad and melancholic.

* The entire set of faces he has on the Fade into you intro, I love the one he makes frowning his face while in bed.

These are just some of my favourites, I would love to read yours!!

Hannah and Garrett through a divided scren or parallel situations

Hello friends! I have been thinking about the divided screen resource that many times appears on this season to create a parallel of what Hannah and Garrett are living at the same time, even when they are on the same room. It is used in multiple occasions:

* At the start, with the Dancing with mYself scene

* In the Kendall scene even though they are not exactly in a divided screen, there are parallels with what they are doing and how they are movingm

* At the bedroom after Dean and Beau party. They are only separated by a bed but we see them through a divided screen.

* In the Fade into You intro, they are doing almost the same only opposed through a divided screen. I once read that in this scene they are in the same classroom but far apart and the black line is still drawn at the middle of the take so as to create a boundary between them, caused by their distance after their break up.

I really like the effect and I sometimes get to thinking why the creators would have choosen it for many instances. I tend to guess that the idea is that they are always connected, even though they didn't know each other, or even though they were separated after the break up. The connection between them is so strong that we can not picture one without the other can't we?

I would like you to see your thoughts and interpretations on this matter!

Can we analyze the progression of these two faces?

You know when they happen and why. They are among my favourite of all. He is so sensitive but at the same time I wonder how he didn't cross the dots in the first face by understanding what was going on with Hannah by mentioning Delaney. Then, he makes this absofreakinglutely adorable face of relief when she says she is ok. It's like that is all that really matters to him. He is back to his regular self. I'm dying here. I could have the second face tattooed.

Favourite Hannah's phrases

Well to make justice to our heroin, here is a post to remember and discuss some of her best, wittiest, funniest and most emotional quotes and phrases.

To start (perhaps I add some other along the way), this would be my top five:

  1. You know girls hate it when guys are too available - Episode 8. I love the little smile on her face when she sees Garrett left the cue to this marvelous phrase which is,.of course, the closing of a cycle that started in episode 1. Love her.

  1. This is what girlfriends do, real ones anyway - Episode 5. She is so supportive of Garrett but also makes him see something he is not used to: commitment.

  1. You could be anywhere you want, but you are not. You are here, on the ice. - Episode 8. She is just a fabulous person to be around. She teaches so much to Garrett with such a caring style. He leaves him emotionally shocked.

  1. Not every girl is dressed for the male gaze - Episode 2. Hannah has her feminist ideas so clear. And she is so independent from boys. Love her x 2.

  1. I'm not fragile, I don't need your pity, I just need you to do this last thing for me (something you have done for many, many, many, many women). - Episode 4. She is not a victim, she is clear of what she wants and unashamed. I wish I was more like her.

Which are yours?

Garrett changing names

Of course we all know and love and enjoy every time he changes Jordan name (so do we Garrett, we are on your side) but I thought today that the Mona incident is just a proof that at that moment she means nothing to him other than someone who he can benefit from. As soon as he can and start decoding some things about this girl that are vibrant (green room, discussion about hockey players violence) he puts his undivided attention to know her name. He could perfectly go on with the ask for help without caring a thing about her, but he goes full researching her and not only that, he even creates the most adorable nickname to her and keeps using it all over the season in a full declaration of love.

What do you think about this? Any ideas? I think the Jacob and Mona situations come from lack of real interest in the other person, the Wellsy is such an amazing act of love for me, and he even likes calling her that when he knows her name.

Your favourite Garrett's gaze at Hannah

As you see on the title, this topic is to discuss your favourite Garrett's gaze at Hannah. There is so much material but of course I want to read all of your opinions.

I have a lot of options to mention, some more obvious, some underrated. This is my top five for today:

  1. When he ends his oral presentation and looks for Hannah in approval.

  1. When, in episode 7, he asks Hannah if everything is ok after having mentioned Delaney and when she promises him she is ok, he looks at her with relief and a delicate smile and says "Ok" like I believe you.

  1. When he looks at her among the crowd at Bloc Party, of course. No explanation needed.

  1. When they are having lunch and the guys arrive, Dean asks them about meeting papa Graham and she says it was fine and holds his hand. He looks at her like they know what really went on and nobody else needs to be inside their world.

  1. When she starts getting naked in the bedroom in the show me scene. I love to imagine what is going on through their minds, they are 'friends' for the record and they are seeing each other naked. I love that when she takes off her bra we see him and he is not doing a shocked or horny face, he is just standing there and making a small shy smile to her.

What are your answers?

There is something about Garrett's smiles before and after

Hello all! I just saw a beautiful edit on Instagram that starts with the conversation with Daveed and we have to cling to the people who see us and smile and then it goes showing a lot of the smiles they have throughout the season.

I discovered there that there is something so different in the way Garrett smiles at Hannah in the first four episodes as the smiles he makes in the other ones where they are a couple. The smiles of the first episodes are all so sexy and incredible and glorious but there is something about Garrett's smiles when they are a couple that gives such a cozyness, relief, calmness. It really embodies the idea that he found not only the love of his life but a home, a place to feel safe, where he doesn't need to act anymore like he is so cool and great, where he feels protected and cared for. We talk a lot about how he makes Hannah feel safe but there is a calmness that Hannah brings to his life, with a few words she can make him feel so good (for example when he asks if she would come with him to Phil's, he is so fearful of her answer at first and when she so sweetly answers his whole face changes, he is relieved).

I wanted to point this out because normally we are all over the first four episodes because of the mystic of their bond and how they go falling in love with each other (in fact, I think that the trailer is mostly scenes from those episodes) and I'm rediscovering how beautiful their bond is when they have already become a couple. I love this because it's a part of the romantic stories we hardly ever see since they all tend to end when the couple begins.

Which are your favourite Garrett smiles? I could name a lot but today I'm sticking to the ones after they become a couple. ♥️
