Hi there again! I see we don't talk too much about Justin and tonight I would like to propose a comparison to those of you who have read the book as well. You can also participate if you want to share your thoughts about the Justin of the tv screen alone.
In my experience, the Justin of the book turned out to me to be much nicer than the one in the tv show. It's not like he is not acting interested in Hannah when he sees Garrett in the picture, but he shares a nice chat with Hannah even before Garrett is involved with her. Plus, he is always kinda nice to her and much less pushy towards her. Finally I really liked the way they ended their relationship in the book, they actually get to talk about the confusing bond they had and end up as friends.
On the other hand, the Justin in the tv show feels so much more interested in his own convenience and even though he really helps with Hannah with the song, he also benefits from it in the auction without having the explicit consent of Hannah. He is pushy towards her and finally they end with an argument that seems quite unfair to Hannah.
I don't really mind the change about his major or profession, sports for music.
What are your thoughts on this?
Hello everyone! I know it's late and I know this sub hasn't been moving too much but I would really like to end this post series about Garrett gazing at Hannah. In this case I bring you my favourite takes from episode 6. There arent many in this one because from here on the Dean and Allie story starts to take up quite a lot of time. Here we have gazes of a couple so they are a lot less uncertain or filled with desire or holding back feelings but looks of love and tenderness. You can see them in this gallery.
Which ones are your favourite ones?
I love the lighting in this scene, the way the light enters through the window and makes that kind of glow around their faces, I just noticed it right now as I was watching episode 6 for my series of Garrett gazing at Hannah haha. Which other scenarios around them do you love

Hi all! In this opportunity I want to go through some of Garrett's outfits since we have analyzed the girls much more. In my case, one of my favourite ones is the one in the photo, at the end of episode 1. Other ones that I love are:
The DS outfit even when it's on! 😉
The outfit he is wearing when they encounter at Malone's and he says "smooth". 🫠
The lilac hoodie he is wearing when he asks if she can go with him to Thanksgiving. 💟
The black T shirt he is wearing when Hannah asks for his help 🙏
His outfit the day of the oral presentation 🥵
The Thanksgiving outfit, so elegant 🤩
Normally, his sportive outfits are not my favourite ones. Which ones do you prefer or recall? They are all mainly simple but the moment and the context help so much to make them wonderful.
Without noticing you, damn it? Why did it take seeing a stupid A on your midterm to make me notice?
This phrase is said by Garrett in chapter 29 of The Deal. I bring it here because I wanted to share with you my emotions the moment I read it. I felt so clearly the inner struggle Garrett is going through at that moment because he is clearly happy of having Hannah in his life but he is also suffering from not having had her sooner or because it was actually a matter of chance, after seeing her grade and considering the possibility of asking her to tutor him.
Just like another discussed phrase (sometimes people just sneak up on you) it's such and strong and melancholic feeling of being in love with this girl and being content and sure about the love he has for him but also a mix with some sort of sadness and fear of it all depending on chance or luck. It was such an emotional and sensitive moment to read! Of course I would have loved it to see it on screen. Definitely one of the moments I thanked reading the book to complete the story.
What do you guys felt it as you read it or now by finding it here (if you hadn't read the book).
Hello again everyone! It's wonderful to see how our posts make us think about new things all the time and keep analyzing and thinking about different aspects of this tv show.
In this case, I had a random thought about Garrett and his avoidance of commitment in serious relationships. Of course, the most evident explanation or argument for this is that he is focused on his hockey career and doesn't want distractions and also it is also evident that the girls just throw themselves at him so why would have to choose for one to settle. No young guy at his place would do (or just a few) and that is part of his life and his idea of being a successful young guy: being successful in the sports area but also in the women area.
BUT I also considered, I guess for the first time, that he has not had and has not grown up with a reference of what a good couple is. The only couple he knew as growing up was the one of his parents and that was definitely not a relationship he wanted to recreate for himself. I don't think that he is conscious about this but for me it could definitely be one of the reasons why he is emotional detached from women and closes himself up to more intimate moments and dialogues other than just sex. In the same way, Allie has her own parents as reference and suffers when she sees that she wants the same but she has a hard time finding it. In the case if Hannah, I also think that her parents resemble an ideal to her and that is why she is crushing for Jordan as if this guy she never talked to could be her saviour.
So, in conclusion, there is a deep explanation as to why Garrett feels the way that he does and it's comprehensible. Of course, he has no clue what is about to happen when he meets Hannah!
Well hello again! Here I am with my number 5 of the Garrett gazing at Hannah post series. In this case I bring you the ones that are for me some of the nicest ways in which our guy looks at Hannah. I tried not to choose the montage ones since they have been talked and talked about a lot and tried to focus instead on some others that go unnoticed.
First of all we have the broad smile he makes when looking close at Hannah and confirming they are both in love with each other.
Number 2 is one of my personal favourites, when they are watching Dirty Dancing and he is there with her but instead of paying attention to the movie he is looking at her with such tenderness and co conveying a thought I found so many times on the book which is how is it possible that this amazing girl loves me and where was I never noticing her?
Number 3 is part of the montage and the moment they are both on the ice rink, the way he looks at her with such love. I absolutely like that they are opening their inner worlds to one another (Hannah playing Dirty Dancing to him and Garrett taking her to ice skating with him).
The fourth one is important to me because it shows how attentive Garrett is with her, when she is talking to her mom and he is listening but without intruding.
Fifth one is in Garrett's old room and after Hannah tells her about her mom and he says something like she must be very proud of you and those words are also his because she is so amazing that he feels lucky to have her in his life.
The last one is a face of love and of someone who understands the gesture of Hannah of not only going with him to face something he was so scared of but also of being interested in his story, his past and his well being. Something that looks so simple but no other girl has ever done for him so it's like a face of recognition but also of being marveled once again at this girl.
What do you guys think of these choices? Do you have any others to mention about episode 5? Love to hear you!
Hello all! Today I share with you this nice text I found on Instagram (@bestofbritten) about Hannah and what makes Garrett fall in love with her. I so agree with this text and I think that is the magic of this show, that it depicts the story of a girl who is so herself that you cannot go without noticing it. She has a lot of richness to her personality: she has thoughts of her own, she knows what she wants in life and prioritizes herself in that way, she is devoted to her instincts and her passions. I think that besides of the fact that in the story Garrett falls for her because she is like no other girl he has ever met, it also shows us that there is no way of living life plenty unless you have self respect and do things that make you happy and proud. It is quite a nice message to give to an audience that is mostly female and that is so used to think that we as women need to perform or act or be in someway in order to please men around us.
What do you think about this?
Well hello again you all! Here I bring which are for me the best moments of Garrett gazing at Hannah in episode 4. It actually includes almost every moment of the episode because they are all so amazing and could not leave one of them out. This is definitely my favourite episode and the breakthrough moment in their relationship so it gives me so much material to decode and analyze.
This time I'm not going to describe each gazing but let you share what you think about these moments and how you felt when you saw them. I like that this episode has a mix of funny moments, really emotional and intimate ones, so much longing and feelings that can not be said, it is the most abundant episode in terms of feelings for me.
Love to hear your ideas!
Hi all! So happy to be back here posting and sharing with you ideas and thoughts. I was watching episode 4 yesterday and I realized something I haven't noticed before and it is the fact that when they are in Garrett's bedroom, after the dancing and hugging scene, they kiss and then they lie down in bed. It's so beautifully made and you can see that during their entire kiss they NEVER open their eyes. They stop kissing for a second and then they go back to kissing but they never open their eyes. There is two things I want to say about it,:
I adore that with this gesture of never opening their eyes up until Garrett lifts her up and they see each other and smile (and go back to closing their eyes) they are conveying such a lot of emotion to that moment. It feels like they don't open their eyes because they are deeply connected to the amazing emotions of finally really kissing and like the world around them does not even exist.
You can tell that this detail must have been practiced with their intimacy trainers ir coaches and that it is a decision to depict exactly this: they are connecting with their emotions really deeply. I want to recognize the hard work this tv show has behind every detail and I was thinking this as I saw the kiss for the millionth time because I think it is so hard to kiss and keep on kissing someone without ever opening your eyes. There is s moment in which they touch each other (Hannah grabs his neck or after that she grabs her shoulder) and I think that that is like a guide to feel the other body when you are actually kissing the other person without seeing it.
I KNOW this post seems a little lunatic and about such a detail but I loved it so much, you can definitely tell they were trying their best to make us feel those emotions.
Plus! I want to ask you, when Hannah gets close to him and before she turns around to look at him, their heads are together and we don't actually see it but do you guys think that Garrett is holding her with her arms? I always wonder that and think that I would have loved for the shot to be wider so as to see how they embrace.
Well, love to hear from you! What do you guys think about this or other details from their intimate scenes?
Hi everyone! I can not believe how much we can still be discussing and talking about this wonderful story even after two months it premiered. As I said in some other posts I commented, I'm reading The Deal book after many doubts. Long story short, I am loving it and discovering so many details that after having watched the series first, become so much more meaningful and make it all (book and tv show) deeper and more beautiful.
One of the things that happens is that, as we can all imagine, the tv show adaptation leaves out a lot of scenes and moments that in the books are much more detailed (once I finish the book I would like to make a post about this). But there is a magical way in which the tv show connects some marvelous details of the book. The Breaking Bad detail is one example. Another that I want to talk about and haven't found it in this sub is the Tuesdays Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd reference.
In the book, after Hannah sings her karaoke song, they spend the rest of the night talking with Garrett's friends and then all of a sudden Garrett begs Hannah to please dance to the Lynyrd Skynyrd song which is playing on the jukebox. This is such an EMOTIONAL moment since the song is connected to Garrett's memory of his mom. I still wonder why they didn't add this moment to the series.
Of course, it wasn't hard for me to connect this with the moment in episode 8 when Garrett is inside his Jeep scrolling on Instagram and trying to catch Hannah's attention by liking her posts. He has a story posted and checks if she has seen it and the story has that song on it. When I saw the tv show I could never see the song quite correctly since it is really small on the screen and I never paid too much attention to it. Now, after reading the book and finding the Lynyrd Skynyrd mention had to go to Episode 8, screenshot and zoom in and there it was. What a perfect circle and what a magical way to connect both moments!!! I even listened to the song to see what was the mood (I didn't know it) and it made me very emotional because it's perfect for that dance scene and I can totally picture both of them dancing. Goosebumps, not still in love nor a couple but definitely feeling things for each other.
What do you guys feel or felt with this reference? Are there other situations or moments in which you felt like this with the book and tv show? I want to hear your opinions!
Hello my loves! After some days a bit disconnected I came back with my series of Garrett gazing at Hannah posts. This time we have Episode 3. Some of them are more obvious while others go for me unnoticed but are still amazing.
Gazing number 1: could I say anything else than the picture itself. Apart from the fact that it comes after one of the seasons most amazing surprises, the look and the desire this gaze depicts is so deep and profound, the first intimate connection they have even though it's just a product of imagination. He is so definitely wanting Hannah at that moment, she is the one that has to decide.
Gazing number 2: the look of relief and content once Hannah calms him down before the oral presentation. There is always something Hannah does on Garrett, she is the one that makes him feel confident. While earlier everyone around him makes him nervous and distracted, Hannah calms him down.
Gazing number 3: the final gaze of happiness and confidence he gives Hannah after he knows he has done a great job at the oral presentation (even before knowing the grade). Her being there and supporting him is what makes the difference and perhaps he could have never made it without her presence. It's just a marvelous look of thankfulness and pride.
Gazing number 4: at the moment in which Hannah is trying different drinks, he replies with his face every face Hannah does with each drink. My favourite is this one, while he is actually waiting to decipher her answer.
Gazing number 5: in the karaoke scene, this is my favourite look of Garrett staring at Hannah. For me is the moment in which he understands and realizes. He can no longer deny it to himself and therefore he is kind of marveled, he can not believe how this girl in front of him is actually so amazing.
Gazing number 6: the car scene and the tension rising so incredibly fast. That moment is the only one in which he stares at her because he is a mixed of emotions: afraid to look at her, longing, desiring her, wanting to say something, kissing her. Again, trying to decipher her.
Gazing number 7: at the end of the episode, he is so confident about what he says to her. He thinks he can mock her about the intentions she had the night before and remembers her that she tried to have sex with him. But he doesn't know what is coming so it's like an innocent face at the end.
Which are your thoughts on these scenes and which are your favourites?
