Doesn't the Qur'an at least imply that a woman can't pray on her menses?
Salam everyone, so I sometimes hear Muslims say that a woman can pray when she is on period and that's because it's not "explicitly" stated in the Qur'an.
However, I feel like it is at least implied...
So there are two verses that I will quote here, one talks about how Allah wants to purify us ( that's after it mentions how to perform ablution some other things )
And the other one talks about how men shouldn't(approach) women on their period until they are 'purified'
Qur’an 2:222
English
“And they ask you about menstruation. Say: it is a harm, so keep away from women during menstruation and do not approach them until they are purified. Then when they have purified themselves, approach them as Allah has commanded you. Indeed, Allah loves those who repent and loves those who purify themselves.”
Qur’an 5:6
English
“O you who believe, when you rise for prayer, wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, wipe your heads, and wash your feet up to the ankles. And if you are in a state of major impurity, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from relieving himself or you have touched women and cannot find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to place hardship upon you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you so that you may be grateful.”
So doesn't that mean that a woman will only be purified AFTER her period is over? Otherwise why does it say until they are purified? Implying that they are 'impure' on their period?
(Whatever impure means here)
So , to whoever thinks that you can pray on your period, then how do you interpret these verses?
Btw this is just a question I'm not here to say this is what the Qur'an says, I just wanna hear your interpretations.
