I read the wonderful article here on what constitutes menopause … one year of no bleeding … and I have not experienced that, though I am 58 and been on HRT for three years. How can you not bleed when you skip an oral progesterone? That sets me off every time. A little too much estrogen? That sets off bleeding too. The doctors assure me I am menopausal and I’m just having “post menopausal bleeding” (biopsy assures I am clean as a whistle), just had very thick endometrial lining. I got a Mirena IUD to better control uterine lining two months ago, and pretty much dribble blood daily. Does that confirm I am not menopausal? Or does that not count because of outside hormones influencing it? If you apply enough estrogen, would every woman with a uterus, no matter how old, bleed?
