10.5 month old moving into toddler room
So baby is 10.5 months old, has always slept like crap. He doesn’t usually sleep longer than 2.5 hours a stint overnight, and less. He still breastfeeds a lot.
I posted on here before as I went through a stage where I could put him down awake and he’d get himself to sleep, but when he learnt to stand it went out the window and he’d stand up screaming n for ages in the cot. I managed to re-lightly sleep train and I can put him down awake again - he usually stands up and cries for like 30 seconds as I leave the room and by the time I shut the door he’s laid down. But this doesn’t really work for night wakings, especially after I’ve gone to bed as we’re in the same room.
So next up is that. He’s 10.5 months old and still in our room, we have a 2 bed house and a nearly 3 year old. Obviously the plan is that they share a room, but with his sleep so bad we haven’t broached it yet as he would wake her and I’d be in and out all night. We still have nights he ends up in the bed with us, which I don’t like, but sometimes it’s all that works and I’m exhausted.
I guess I’m just looking for advice on how to get longer stretches overnight, how I’m supposed to sleep train when I’ve gone to bed and then how to move them in together. My 2-nearly 3 year old is still in a cot and sleeps through great, she’s always been a good sleeper. We will put off changing her into a bed as don’t need to fix something that’s not broken, however she is showing signs of needing that ability to get out and go potty.
He currently up around 7, naps around 10 and 1430, bed around 730. He does normally nap between 1hr15-1hr45.
