I’m looking at importing a 2017 BMW 540i G30 and I’m trying to figure out what the VRT is realistically going to cost me in Ireland.

I used the Revenue calculator and it quoted me around €6.8k VRT for a 2017 540i xDrive M Sport. Does that sound about right, or could it end up being higher at the VRT appointment?

I wouldn’t really want to spend more than €8k on VRT, so I’m trying to avoid any nasty surprises before buying the car.

Has anyone here imported a B58 3.0 BMW before (540i, 340i, etc.)? What did you end up paying in VRT, and was it close to the Revenue estimate?
