AITA for being pissed at my brother for using his whole inheritance?
Me and my brother had a parent who passed away who left us some inheritance. It was a couple 6 figure savings. Now, I’ve been working the whole time since I’ve got it, and I’ve been doing pretty good at replacing money I’ve spent on it. Meaning, I’ve been doing good on not letting it go down.
Now my brother… our mom passed 3 years ago. I’m really mad because I don’t see how he left his money to go to 5k and now is telling me he only has 2 months of rent left and is struggling to find a job. I told him I’d help him the first month but I’m going to be honest I don’t want to do that. His rent is $1800 and that doesn’t count food or anything. I don’t get how he would wait to work until the end???? I’m super pissed! Am I the asshole to be pissed? What if I didn’t help? Now I’m stressed because I also pay rent myself and can’t have two payments in once, I’ve seen how quick this money goes down! How do I handle this?
Mind you too, I needed a new job recently, applied to 50 a day, and got a job within the week. He told me the last time he looked for a job it took him 2 years? How is that posssible?????
He’s looking for one now while being in school - but I don’t see how at this moment he’s prioritizing school instead of a job. He doesn’t have open availability for a job now because he wants to put his school schedule on it, mind you, he doesn’t even need school. He already has a diploma for what he studied and goes to school to take classes for fun??? In my opinion he needs to ditch school and focus on long term employment.
Btw he is younger, and we have no family. It’s only me and him.
