Revision Tip Plasty & Lip Lift in Korea

* I received a discount in exchange for this review. *

Hey, everyone! I'm from the United States and flew out to Korea to have a revision tip plasty and lip lift by Dr. Chung Seungil at Retmus Plastic Surgery. I had Googled lip lift procedure in Korea and Dr. Chung was one of two surgeons that I found that performed this procedure. I ultimately decided on Retmus due to the before and afters despite his prices being significantly more expensive than the other clinic.

Dr. Chung speaks very good English. During my consultation, he explained thoroughly how he was going to correct my concerns. For the tip plasty, he used donated rib cartilage and fascia behind my ear. He explained how he was going to hide my scars for the lip lift inside my nostrils.

I had an English translator named Sangwoo. He was available during all my visits and was very helpful with explaining the mediations and the after care. He was easy to reach through WhatsApp and was very responsive.

I had my surgery on April 20. The surgery took approximately 2 to 3 hours. I was quite swollen after the surgery. I slept on two pillows that night and iced my lips periodically. I returned to the clinic a week later to have the cast and stitches removed.

It's been 3 weeks and honestly, I'm unsure about my results. I still can't fully close my mouth due to lip incompetence. I look like a rat or one of Dr. Seuss' character from Whoville. I currently wear a mask whenever I go outside because the air dries out my teeth so badly. I'm hoping that my upper lip will relax as the swelling continues to go down and then eventually my lips will meet again. It's making me very stressed and depressed at the moment.

Please send good thoughts and wish we luck on my recovery. I will check back in again with my progress.
