Bye Rejuran, Hello Hucellin & Sylfirm

I visited independently and paid in full. (Not sponsored or paid btw, just sharing my genuine experience because I’m so excited about the potential results!)

I used to be obsessed with Rejuran and literally got over 30cc done last year alone. But during my last four sessions, I suddenly developed a crazy allergy to it, so I had to completely stop. I ended up visiting Project U Clinic, which is my regular spot in Seoul, to figure out what to do next.

Honestly, since RE2O is super hyped in Korea right now, I went into Project U fully planning to get that. But after checking my skin, the doctor told me that the seasonal change in Korea had completely wrecked my skin barrier. My oil-water balance was totally off, which is why my redness and flushing had gotten so bad lately. They explained that if your barrier is this damaged, your skin won't absorb any treatment properly, and you won't see good results anyway.

Instead of RE2O, they recommended Hucellin to rebuild and strengthen my skin barrier. They actually told me that RE2O is better suited for older skin types or people mainly worried about volume loss. Since Hucellin is cheaper than RE2O, it felt so honest, zero aggressive upselling, which made me trust Project U instantly.

We also did a deep skin analysis with a scanning machine before the consultation, and the data showed that my pores were quite enlarged. To tackle both the pores and my major concern with redness, we decided to pair the Hucellin with Sylfirm X. Pain-wise, Hucellin was way less painful than Rejuran, which was a huge relief.

I love that the whole consultation at Project U was based on actual data from the skin analysis rather than just guessing or pushing random procedures. I’m scheduled to go back in about two weeks for a follow-up, and I’m honestly so curious to see how my skin data changes on the machine. I’m planning to do about two more sessions of Sylfirm as well. Dr. Jeong did my treatment and was incredibly meticulous throughout the whole process. Really hoping to see that redness fade and my barrier heal up soon!

What makes a Seoul beauty clinic actually foreigner-friendly?

I see “foreigner-friendly” mentioned a lot when people talk about Seoul beauty clinics, but I’m not sure what that should actually include.

For people who have gone to clinics in Seoul as foreigners, what made the experience easier?

Was it English-speaking staff, clear pricing, aftercare instructions, translation help, realistic consultation, or follow-up support?

Advice needed on which clinic for acne scarring treatments!

I am visiting independently and paying in full.

I have spent days researching but feel completely overwhelmed by the mixed information online. I am traveling to Seoul soon but will only be there for two days. Because my time is short, I am terrified of being pressured into aggressive upselling or getting high-risk treatments that require long recovery times.

My primary skin concerns are hyperpigmentation, minor atrophic cheek scars, and mild skin laxity.
I am currently considering:
PicoSure Toning and Potenza
Shurink
A basic pore facial & mole removal

I have narrowed it down to either Re Berry, cellin in Myeongdong, Fine. Does anyone have any experiences with these places that I should consider?

Does anybody have any comparisons of these listed clinics that have gone in specifically for acne scar pigmentation, minor atrophic scars, skin tightening?

Has anyone with similar concerns found a clinic in Seoul that genuinely focused on safety and skipped the heavy sales pitches? I need to book ASAP due to my tight window. Any personal experiences would mean the world to me.

Thank you so much!

Looking for affordable skin clinics in Seoul for arm fat and laser treatments

Hi everyone,

I’ve been looking into skin clinics in Seoul recently, mainly for treatments that help with minimizing arm fat and also good laser treatments for hair removal

I keep seeing posts and ads about clinics offering these kinds of treatments at pretty affordable prices, but I’m not sure which places are actually reliable and not just cheap because of promotions.

Has anyone tried arm slimming/body contouring treatments or laser treatments at a clinic in Seoul? I’m curious about the price range, results, and whether the clinics were foreigner-friendly.

Would really appreciate any recommendations or places to avoid!

what do you think of my veneers? I did them at Lucid

I did NOT receive any discount/incentive for this review.

I was pretty nervous about getting veneers abroad honestly. Korea has a reputation for cosmetic dentistry and the prices are a big part of why people make the trip but that doesn't automatically make the decision easy, especially when you're only there for a short trip and don't have time for multiple appointments.

I went with Lucid dental mostly because I needed a one day option and they seemed to have experience with international patients. That part did make me feel slightly less anxious going in, just seeing that other foreigners had gone through the process there.

The actual experience was fine. They did a digital scan and designed the veneers based on my teeth rather than just picking a standard shape. The consultation covered things like thickness and preserving tooth structure, and they matched the color to my existing teeth. One thing they pointed out that I hadn't really thought about before was that the bonding material they use also comes in different shades, so they match it as closely as possible to your natural tooth color rather than just using a one size fits all approach. Nothing felt particularly rushed, which had been my main concern with doing it all in one day.

Results look pretty natural to me. I did 8 upper and 6 lower and my teeth don't look dramatically different, just more even and cleaner. Whether that's worth it really depends on what you're going for.

A few honest caveats though, the cost adds up fast especially for multiple veneers, and that's before factoring in travel. The cheapest option they had was the Lucinate Classic which ran me about 1.19 million won per tooth. So yeah it's not exactly pocket change, especially once you're doing 14 of them. English communication was workable but don't expect a seamless experience if nuanced questions come up. And like any cosmetic procedure, results are going to vary person to person.

If you're thinking about doing this in Korea, just do your research properly. Compare clinics, look at before and afters and figure out what look you're actually going for before you commit to anything.

I need the help of people who have had plastic surgery in Korea

Hello everyone, I’m not Korean, and I’m considering getting several procedures done in Korea. I want facial contouring, surgery to make one of my eyes bigger and remove excess eyelid skin because my eyes are uneven, fat grafting under my eyes, forehead, aegyo-sal area, and nasolabial folds, a lip lift, a third nose revision surgery because I’ve already had two rhinoplasties but I’m still very unhappy with my nose, and also breast augmentation surgery.

In Turkey, doctors usually don’t perform this many surgeries at the same time, but when I watched videos from Braun Plastic Surgery Clinic, I saw that they often do multiple procedures together. At first, I actually liked Braun’s results, but a content creator named Didem Ceran had surgery there, and even after more than 5 months, her face still looks asymmetric, swollen, and like it hasn’t fully settled yet, and she still has visible scars. Because of that, I’ve started feeling confused and uncertain.

I want a large clinic like Braun because these surgeries are very complicated, and I feel like they would be able to respond quickly if something went wrong during surgery. There are so many clinics like DA Plastic Surgery Clinic, VIEW Plastic Surgery, and Girin Plastic Surgery Clinic, but I really need advice from people who have had multiple cosmetic procedures done at the same time like I’m planning to.

Which clinic did you go to, and are you satisfied with your results? Also, how was your recovery process? Did you regret having so many procedures done together?

Thank you in advance.

Jawline Skin Botox vs Masseter Botox?

Is there any difference between these? Some clinics have these two procedures listed separately on their websites. Thanks!

Breast Fat Grafting or Breast Implants?

I’ve consulted countless times for both and I still can’t decide. I have a nice breast shape but small and flat when I lie down. My body is very masculine, with broad shoulders, no defined small waist and no butt (I have hip dips). To add, I dislike the idea of having foreign materials in me.

That’s why I heavily lean towards breast fat grafting. I don’t want big boobs, just bigger. I think 2 rounds of that could satisfy my desires, and it’s fully natural in terms of material.

The caveat is that it’s so unpredictable, and apparently fat cells that don’t make it can turn calcified or into oil cysts, and they can be felt when you squeeze the breasts. Ranging from feeling like a sand bag or just feeling a large rock in the chest. There is no guarantee with the outcome of this procedure. You might lose all the fat except for the calcified ones…

Which to me is an absolute no-no.

Then we have breast implants which I’m not that keen on largely because it’s not a one and done surgery and I’d need to plan in the next decade or so. They also just don’t really look natural to me unless they’re in a bra and in photos. But they move like two balls and seem to have a firm stress ball like sensation.

With breast implants, going too small can also make it look unnatural. The natural size for me imo is too huge relative to my body. I look like a P.

So I’m not sure what I should do… fat graft? Implants?

Lastly, the fat grafting surgeon suggested using frozen fat for the second round (considered as a touch up than a full on second round), claims the survival rate is as good as fresh so long as you use it before 6 months. I don’t really buy it but I’d love to hear your opinions or experiences.

DO NOT go to Beauty & Young Clinic with Dr. Kim

I did not receive any discounts for this review. Do NOT go to Beauty & Young clinic because Dr. Kim (Hyeon Jin Kim) is soo shady! I come to Korea twice a year for treatments so I've been to quite a few clinics and have a pretty solid view of what clinics are good vs bad and have never felt compelled to write a bad review. I just had a consultation Dr. Kim for forehead filler and he recommended that I do 4cc for the forehead and 2cc for the temples. The consultation was only a few minutes and after I went into a separate room with two other consultants to pay. I asked to see before and after photos of patients who did 4ccs because based on photos I've seen online, the results looked a bit over-filled (kind of like a fish lol) for my personal liking and I wanted to start with 2cc or 3cc just in case and add more later if needed. The consultants kept reiterating that the doctor recommends 4cc and I said I understand but I think that might be too much for me personally and they wouldn't stop pushing it which I thought was so weird. Then suddenly they switched up and said it's actually not possible to get anything less than 4ccs and I was like ??? where did this come from you didn't mention that 10mins ago. I told them it feels like they are forcing me to get 4cc and I'm not comfortable with this and they tried to scare me into getting 4ccs by saying if I got less I would have "lumps and bumps" and that getting a touch up later would be a problem. But they also said that other people would come back in 2 weeks or a year later for touch ups so that doesn't make any sense. After pulling teeth with them they finally agreed to allow me to get 3ccs and also "recommended" that I get Botox or else they said the results would be lumpy. I ended up paying for 3ccs of the forehead filler, no temple filler, and the Botox. As I was waiting outside, they informed me that actually Dr. Kim refuses to do the procedure unless I got 4ccs. I asked for a refund because what the f?? That's so shady? At first they wouldn't refund me the doctor consultation fee but I was not having it so they finally agreed to refund me in full. I've never experienced being FORCED to get any procedure or an amount that I'm not comfortable with so this experience was insane. DO NOT come here for any procedure and especially not with the shady Dr. Kim!

How to not get scammed at Korean dermatology clinics

So I just got back from Seoul where I did some treatments and honestly the whole process was way different from what I expected.

First thing, use Naver to search the clinic name IN KOREAN. The reviews you see in Chinese or English aren't the full picture. Korean reviews tell you way more.

Also there's this app called Modoodoc where you can check the doctor's license and how experienced they are. Helped me feel more secure about who was doing my face lol

Most clinics will give you a quote over chat if you ask, so just ask : )

My takeaways after all this:

- Pick somewhere near your hotel or metro station, saves so much in transport

- If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is

Hope this helps someone not make the same mistakes I did lol

Natural Beauty Enhancement through Lip Fillers

Warm greetings from Beauty Bar Plastic Surgery & Skin Clinic everyone! (quite literally as it is really warm in Korea right now 😅)

Today, we wanted to introduce you one of the most popular treatments at our clinic - lip fillers! Many of our local and international patients are wary and hesitant when deciding on getting lip fillers the first time. They are looking for fuller lips while not wanting to overdo it and keep it lowkey.

Customization over One-fits-all
At Beauty Bar, we focus on the design that the patient wants and compliments their overall features. Depending on your personal desired look - whether you want subtle volume, an overall better symmetry, lifted mouth corners or just a softer appearance - our doctors and medical team have extensive experience with helping patients to achieve their desired look.

Lips that actually suit your facial features Emphasizing on the customization part, we do not only analyze your natural lip shape but also include overall facial balance, your own unique features and one’s side profile in the equation. By using premium HA (Hyaluronic Acid) fillers, we ensure that the results provide both soft texture as well as natural movement.

Our lip fillers may help to improve:
→ thin or flat lips
→ an uneven lip shape
→ a lack of definition in the cupid’s bow
→ dry or aging lips with volume loss
→ overall facial balance

Things to look out for after getting lip fillers
To ensure the best results, we recommend following these pre-cautions:
→ Avoid using straws for around a week
→ Do not press or rub hard on your lips for around a week
→ Refrain from smoking, drinking alcohol or going to Korean bathhouses or the swimming pool for around a week
→ If possible, avoid very irritating or spicy foods for around two days
→ Lipstick or Liptints can be applied around 3 hours after the treatment

If you ever were thinking about getting lip fillers but are undecided or have any further questions about the procedure, feel free to leave your questions below in the comments and we’d be more than happy to answer anything you are curious about! 🤗

Things I realized while researching dermatology clinics in Seoul as a foreigner

I’m visiting Seoul this July and have been researching acne scar treatments for weeks now. The more I looked into it the more I noticed a few common mistakes a lot of foreigners seem to make.

  1. Searching for laser names first

At first I was only searching for treatments like Thermage, Potenza or Fraxel. But after reading more local reviews it feels like Korean patients care more about why a treatment is recommended for their skin rather than just the device name itself.

  1. Booking based only on event prices

Some promo prices look incredibly cheap at first but sometimes VAT, add-ons or conditions are not included. And with acne scar treatments especially it seems more important to think about the overall treatment plan rather than one single session price.

  1. Assuming social media popularity = quality

A lot of clinics appear repeatedly on Instagram or TikTok. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re bad but I started feeling like marketing plays a much bigger role than I expected.

  1. Trying to do too much in one trip

I totally understand wanting to maximize a short Korea trip but I’ve also read that doing too many aggressive treatments at once can sometimes lead to longer recovery depending on your skin condition.

At this point, I think I care less about “what laser they use” and more about whether the clinic can clearly explain why they recommend a certain treatment approach.

Would love to hear from people who’ve actually had treatments done in Seoul especially things you wish you had known beforehand.

“When Cosmetic Surgery Abroad Goes Wrong. My Experience with Wonjin Plastic Surgery & Molan”

I underwent upper and lower blepharoplasty in Seoul at Wonjin Plastic Surgery with Dr. Park Jang Woo through the Almaty-based medical tourism agency Molan.

After the surgery, I experienced serious issues with the results and a lack of proper support from the intermediaries.

I am currently trying to obtain answers and resolve the situation.

I am sharing this as a personal experience and encourage others to carefully research both the clinic and the intermediaries before making a decision.
The video is not mine, but she has also bad experience with Wonjin clinic .

dry dull skin with some sagging over 30 looking for face lifting and hydration

my skin has been feeling dry and dull lately with noticeable sagging around the jaw and cheeks even though im only in my early 30s. it started after some stress and not enough sleep and regular creams just arent cutting it anymore so im hoping for something that brings back that bounce and glow without looking overdone.

a friend recommended this premium skin clinic in cheongdam and i have a consultation booked there soon. they seem really foreigner friendly with private 1 on 1 talks and interpreters ready which makes me feel more comfortable since im not local. im thinking of trying their tuneface treatment for some natural face lifting to tighten things up and adding a hydration boost like skin boosters or exosome stuff to fix the dryness at the same time.

has anyone tried tuneface or similar lifting at places like this and how long did the results last? also what hydration treatments worked best for dull skin without making it oily? any tips on what to ask during the consult would help a lot.

🇰🇷Rejuran Healer (Black) vs Rejuran HB Plus (Red): Ingredients, Benefits, Pain Level & How to Choose for Your Skin Type

Hey everyone!

If you’ve been lurking around Korean skincare subs, TikTok, or clinical aesthetic forums lately, you’ve definitely heard of Rejuran (리쥬란). It is hailed as the ultimate secret behind that flawless, translucent "glass skin" seen on Korean celebs.

However, looking at the clinic menus can be incredibly confusing with all the color-coded options: Rejuran Black, Red, White, and Blue. Today, we are going to do a deep dive into the two most popular variations: the Classic Black Box (Rejuran Healer) and the "Pain-Free" Red Box (Rejuran HB Plus).

💡 What Exactly is Rejuran?

Before comparing colors, let’s talk about what Rejuran actually is. Unlike typical skin boosters (like hyaluronic acid-based water gloss injections) that only temporarily plump the skin, Rejuran is a cellular skin-healing treatment.

The Science: Its core active ingredient is PN (Polynucleotide), extracted from wild salmon DNA. PN is highly biocompatible with human skin and incredibly stable.

How it Works: When injected into the dermis, it acts as a scaffolding that repairs damaged skin cells from within, reverses signs of aging, and triggers your body to produce its own fresh collagen.

The Goal: It literally thickens your skin barrier, tightens pores, and improves overall skin elasticity.

🖤 1. Rejuran Healer (The Classic Black Box)

The Black Box is the OG, the pioneer of the Rejuran family, and the one that put salmon DNA on the global skincare map.

🧬 Profile & Specs

Key Ingredient: 2% Pure PN (Polynucleotide)

Volume: 2 syringes per box, 2 mL each (4 mL total)

Consistency: Thick and highly viscous

✨ Key Benefits

This is your go-to for deep cellular repair and anti-aging. It targets the foundational health of your skin. It is phenomenal for increasing skin density, smoothing out fine lines, shrinking enlarged pores, calming chronic redness, and fading minor acne scars.

🙋 Ideal For:

Anyone aged 30+ noticing early signs of skin sagging or fine lines.

People with a compromised skin barrier, eczema-prone skin, or chronic rosacea/redness.

Those dealing with textured skin, large pores, or shallow acne pit scars.

The brave souls who have a high pain tolerance (we'll talk about this in a minute).

❤️ 2. Rejuran HB Plus (The Hydrating Red Box)

The Red Box is an upgraded formulation specifically designed to solve the two biggest complaints about the classic Black Box: intense pain and lack of immediate surface hydration.

🧬 Profile & Specs

Key Ingredients: 1% PN + 1% Hyaluronic Acid (HA) + Lidocaine (Local Anesthetic)

Volume: 1 syringe per box, 1 mL total

Consistency: Sleeker and smoother than the classic version

✨ Key Benefits

It delivers a triple-action effect: Repair + Instant Hydration + Pain Reduction. Because of the added Hyaluronic Acid, you get that instant, dewy "chok-chok" glow right after healing. More importantly, the built-in Lidocaine cuts down the injection pain by more than 50%!

🙋 Ideal For:

People with a low pain threshold who are terrified of needles but still want Rejuran results.

Those with extremely dry, dehydrated, or flaky skin who need an instant moisture boost.

Busy individuals who want a shorter downtime (the bumps subside much faster).

Aesthetic beginners looking for their first advanced skin booster treatment.

❓ The Ultimate Verdict: How to Choose?

If you are still on the fence about which one to book at your next clinic appointment, look at your skin goals and your pain tolerance:

✅ Go with BLACK if:

Your primary concern is aging, texture, or structural skin damage (like a ruined barrier or acne scarring). If you want the maximum concentration of pure healing power and don't mind the pain (or if your clinic offers great numbing/laughing gas options), the Black Box yields unparalleled long-term therapeutic results.

✅ Go with RED if:

Your skin is mostly healthy but desperately dehydrated, dull, and lacking that inner glow. If you get severe anxiety thinking about getting poked by needles dozens of times across your face, choose Red. The comfort level is night and day compared to Black, and your skin will look radiant much faster.

👑 The Pro-Tip (The Korean Hybrid Method):

A popular cocktail technique among top dermatologists in Seoul is combining 2 mL of Black Box with 1–2 mL of Red Box in a single session! The doctor injects the Black Box deep into the skin for structural anti-aging, and uses the Red Box for the superficial layers and drier areas. The Lidocaine from the Red Box also helps numb the skin, making the overall experience much more comfortable.

🩺 Post-Treatment Aftercare & FAQ

Q: Will I look like a monster right after? What about the bumps (papules)?

A: Yes, you will have temporary "bee-sting" bumps all over your face where the product was deposited into the dermis. This is completely normal! Red Box bumps usually disappear within 24 hours. Black Box bumps take about 1–3 days to fully absorb because the formula is thicker.

Q: How long do the results last?

A: After completing a full initial course of 3 sessions, the skin-remodeling benefits can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months, depending on your lifestyle.

Q: What should my aftercare routine look like?

A: No raw tap water on your face for the first 24 hours (use sterile saline wipes instead). Strictly avoid AHAs, BHAs, Vitamin C, and Retinol/Retinoids for at least 5–7 days. Stick to a bland, barrier-supporting moisturizer, sheet masks designated for post-procedure care, and plenty of sunscreen!

Hopefully, this comprehensive guide helps you navigate the world of Rejuran skin boosters! Always make sure to visit an authorized clinic with certified dermatologists, and ensure they show you the official authenticity/genuine product tags before injection.

Have any of you tried Rejuran? What was your experience with the pain and results? Let’s chat in the comments!

Seoul 3 days and Microneedling?

My family and I are heading to Asia for Xmas and plan to hit up Seoul for a few days then headed to a sunny destination for Christmas to meet the family. Is 3 days long enough for my micro-needling to calm down? I’m not in Seoul for a long time but would like to get some treatment to improve fine lines and overall brightness in my skin. I am just worried that being in a hot destination even with my wide brim hat will hinder my healing.
