Ppl are lowkey delusional about what ethnicity means, they just go with whatever feels "nice". Everyone thinks they know what it means cuz it's a colloquial word, but it's NOT just genetics. If you lose your culture, your language, your religion, you CAN lose your ethnicity. the irish in ireland can decide what irish ethnicity means, but paper "irish" outside ireland don't get a say. No one sees italian or irish americans as anything but white at this point, and it can happen with asian ethnicities too, if they let their heritage be erased. You can blame your parents for not teaching you the language or culture but if you don't have it you don't have it lol, good luck changing the definition
