It’s Wednesday tomorrow, so that makes it supermarket shop day for me. I’ve just bought a Tesco gift card (£200) on the Sprive app and received an immediate £7 cashback, which I have already transferred towards my mortgage. I will also get a discount in Tesco of 10% using the Clubcard subscription scheme, and of course Clubcard prices.

Buying gift cards isn’t new for me. I have blue light and get a slightly better deal if I buy through their reward scheme. BUT I never paid that saving towards my mortgage. There is no way I would siphon off a few quid at a time from my bank account and transfer it to my lender. At best, I might set it aside ti do later when I’ve got a bit more saved to make it ‘worth it’. For me, I know myself, and later never happens, the money gets spent elsewhere and my mortgage is not getting the overpayment boost I want it to get.

Sprive makes it so easy to overpay. It’s literally a single click and the money transfers immediately. The mortgage interest is daily, so the saving compounds. Well worth it for me.

I use cashback sites in conjunction with Sprive when shopping to maximise savings. With Sprive, you buy gift cards so the cashback is instant and then you click through TopCashback or Quidco etc to get their cashback too.

I have a referral code if anyone wants to try it for themselves.
