Hi all!
I have an offer from my current long-time employer to move to Ireland to fill a position someone left.
I haven't gotten a formal contract for the move yet, given that it'll be a new legal entity to work for, so can't say what differences there'll be there.
However, a friend warned me that my employer might insist on a probation period, even though I've been with the company for 5 years.
I guess my question is, is this common? Would there be any other surprises arising from a new contract?
I know the UK has no-fault dismissal for the first two(?) years of employment, is that something I would need to worry about here?
For context, my current mutual notice period is 6 months.
Thanks!
