I’ve been throwing my own events for almost 5 years now. I started with small house parties using home stereos with 10 people attending, and worked up to forest raves with a pro-level sound system and lighting, multiple DJs (all friends), and 40–50 people attending (also all friends). That already feels like a huge accomplishment considering I live in a generally low-population area.

All of it has come out of my own pocket because I never wanted to charge my friends, but I think I want to start making money and build a career out of this. After throwing 30+ raves, I’ve realized I’m actually really good at it and genuinely love doing it.

So with all that said, how would I go about becoming a promoter/event organizer for raves? Is it even a career I could realistically live off of? Would it be better to start promoting myself independently, or is it more realistic to join an existing promotion company first?

Would love any input!
