I built a free dashboard to track and analyse raw club & shot data
Hey everyone - I’ve been quietly building a free platform for golfers called FairwayLabs and wanted to finally share it! I hope this doesn't break the no solicitation rule as the platform is completely free to use?
I was inspired by Aron Schüler, who created a Garmin R10 progress dashboard and with the rise of vibe-coding I decided to take a shot at building my own version.
I loved having access to shot data and launch monitor numbers, but I found the official apps for viewing and analysing the data pretty clunky & limiting. It always felt difficult to properly track progress over time, compare sessions, or actually learn anything useful from the numbers.
Everything ended up scattered between exports, screenshots, notes, and range sessions.
So I built Fairway Labs to be a cleaner, more focused platform for golfers who actually want to understand and improve their game over time.
Core features of the platform:
- Track your club & shot data from practice sessions and rounds
- Build your own dashboard focused only on the metrics you care about
- Track and visualise performance trends over time
- Analyse consistency and patterns to make your game more predictable
- Tag sessions and add notes so you remember what you were working on and where (sim, range, course, etc.)
- Add your clubs so that you can compare against the new ones you swore you wouldn't buy
- Compare your stats against golfers around your handicap
- View on desktop or mobile.
How does it work?
You can upload shot data directly via a .csv export from launch monitors, or if you already have shot data elsewhere, you can download the .csv template from the platform and input/upload it yourself.
The goal was to make it useful whether you’re using expensive launch monitor hardware or simply tracking your practice manually.
If you don’t have any club or shot data yet, you can still explore the platform by clicking the “Try with a sample csv” button.
I've added a few screenshots showing the key features/pages below.
Customisable Dashboard - See the data you want & how you want to see it, then set custom goals to track
.csv Upload via Launch Monitor export or using the CSV template Upload your Launch Monitor .csv exports or download a .csv template to use and upload
Club Data - Full Club/Shot data that can be filtered by sessions, time periods and session tags. All data can be viewed as a whole ir by individual clubs.
Custom Charts - If you don't see a chart you want, then use the custom chart creator to make one yourself. You can add it to your dashboard too!
Progress Summary - Track your progress and analyse trends
Benchmarks - See how you match up to those at a similar handicap
Add multiple bags - We all like buying new clubs! You can set up your bags, save them and apply them to each session. This allows your to compare individual club data when comparing sessions.
As you can tell from the stats in the screenshots (which I wish were made up but actually consist of my range sessions), I am not a good golfer but I do love data, trends and analysing them to see how I can improve. For example, I'm working on getting my swing path to sit between -2 & +2 degrees and I can see that I'm trending in the right direction!
As the saying goes, you don't know what you don't know and that is especially poignant at my level of golf and dashboard creation, so I’d genuinely love feedback! Any comments are welcome but here's a few ideas:
- What features would actually help your game?
- What do existing golf apps get wrong?
- Even if you don't own a launch monitor, would you use this? For example if you spend an hour in the sim you could copy and paste your data into the .csv template and upload it here.
- What stats or trends do you care about most?
Appreciate any feedback/support!
