Should I buy a driver with a stiff or extra stiff shaft?

I've been playing for about 4 months, and I'm in the market to replace my current regular flex driver with one with a stiffer shaft. I went for a quick, informal fitting today, and to my surprise it turns out my typical clubhead speed is in the 105 to 107 mph range. Would I be better off buying a stiff shaft which allows me to load it better, or going with an extra stiff which gives me room to grow as my swing mechanics improve? Thanks in advance!

Beginner golfer gear advice

I am a 22 yr old male and just started a few weeks back (36 hc), to be able to play i bought myself a pretty nice set of Callaway Rogue X irons. People around my home course and range have told me my swing(speed) doesnt match my shaft weight and flex. I bought the clubs second hand before really knowing what these terms meant (they all have Project X Catalyst 50 5.0 shafts) would you advice on trading the clubs for stiffer shafts (i have seen some nice irons on Marketplace with regular/stiff shafts) or rather adjusting my swing(speed) to the irons I have now.

Thanks!

Engraved A Few Clubs With A 4th Of July Theme

I am happy with the results of these engraved clubs. The colored flag might be a bit bold for some.

Curious what you guys think and see if I can generate some revenue with the hardware.

Golf bag recommendations

I’m looking for a new golf bag, mine is old and has a hole in 2 of the pockets. Any recommendations for stand bags? Preferably around or under the $150 mark? I of course am checking Facebook marketplace but I live in a pretty rural area so there’s not much within about a 100 mile radius. Brand doesn’t matter to me at all. Thanks in advance!

Look good play good

In all seriousness it’s a great putter. It hurt to bag the blacked out Scotty but I seem to like inserts more

Is my range finder repairable? (Acegmet Pfs5)

The rangefinder is an Acegmet PFS5. It powers on normally, all display icons are visible, and it vibrates as if it locks onto a target. However, the distance always displays “—” instead of a yardage.

I have already:
Fully charged the battery.
Cleaned the lenses.
Tried multiple targets at different distances.
Switched through all available modes.

Is there anyway to fix this or is it defunct?
Thanks.

3D Printed Irons Review

Wanted to give a quick review of these irons since I couldn’t find much information on them before I bought them.
Disclaimer: I was able to get these at a significant discount because my brother works at a golf store.
A little backstory: I had been playing Cobra King Tours for quite a while and was playing well with them, but I thought moving to something a little more forgiving might help. I switched to a Srixon ZXi combo set (5s and 7s). Nothing against those clubs—they’re excellent—but the offset never really suited my eye. I also started developing a bit of a hook, and every once in a while I’d catch a random “hot” shot that would fly 20 yards farther than expected. That became my miss all season.
When the Cobra 3D Printed irons came out, I was intrigued, but the price tag seemed pretty outrageous. Eventually, I ended up with a combo set: 3DP MBs from PW-7 iron and 3DP Tours in the 4-6 irons.
I’ve now played five rounds with them, and here are my thoughts.
Despite the price, these irons are genuinely incredible. The MBs have forgiveness that honestly feels closer to a players-distance iron, but without the random jumpers. Front-to-back dispersion has been outstanding. They set up beautifully behind the ball, and even with the ultra-thin topline, they inspire a surprising amount of confidence after just a few swings.
The Tour long irons add just a little more size without looking bulky. They stay extremely consistent on distance and, in my experience, are even more forgiving than my ZXi 5s, which already felt incredibly forgiving across the face.
In short, Cobra absolutely knocked it out of the park with these. I’ll probably never say the price feels “reasonable,” but if any iron comes close to justifying a premium price tag, it’s these. Great work by Cobra.

Golf balls compression.

In general. Do you play with a specific ball? Or just cheap/ ones you find?

I’m “ newer” to the game only played a few years. My handicap is around 13. I never knew golf balls has compression rates that correlated with your swing speed.

Google says to play a ball that’s 75-90 compression rate I typically use the members mark ball since they are $28 for two dozen, and they are comparable to Kirkland and pro v1.

Old Belding Philadelphia Eagles Golf Bag, is this anything?

Was digging around in my basement looking for some old items to sell or dispose of when I found a golf bag with old school Philadelphia eagles branding, thinking of selling but I don’t really know what it’s worth as either golf bag a piece of sports memorabilia. I found Gatorade branded bags from the same era going for 500+ so that’s seemingly a good place to start. The bag is kinda dirty but could be cleaned. Input is appreciated from anyone familiar with the brand or with merchandise of this type

Kirkland vs paradym

I’m looking at the Kirkland signature 4-pw for 529 or paradym (or maybe ai smoke) on callaway preowned for 599 like new. I’m getting back into golf and probably would be better off with game improvement. Any thoughts?

Could it be the wedge or the grip? Maybe both?

I picked up a used Taylormade Hi Toe 3 56 degree wedge fitted with a MCC +4 Align grip the other day on a whim at my local golf shop. I gamed it yesterday and I did not make a single bad chip with it over my entire round. It has me wondering now if the Hi Toe is exactly what I’ve been needing in my bag, or if the Align grip is where the magic is.

Early in the year, I had decided to trade in my well loved Titleist SM5s for Cleveland CBX4s in an effort to gain some more forgiveness, I wasn’t a horribly bad chipper with the SM5s, but I could have been a bit better. I demoed the CBX4 before buying, and on a simulator mat they seemed like what I was looking for. On the course though I’ve been less than happy. The Taylormade Hi Toe 3 wedge by contrast, I feel a higher level of confidence and control. I just don’t know if it’s wedge itself and how it balances, of if having the Align grip to set a consistent neutral position before adjusting grip to open or close the face is making that difference.

Could it also maybe be the difference in sole grind between the different wedges? I have to look, I think my CBX4s were all S or M grind, not sure what the Hi Toe is…

I really miss Adams Golf

Adams was such a cool company and always innovating, when they started pushing the envelope into players irons and hybrids the stuff was just magic.

Really sad what TaylorMade did to them although I still see some of Adams innovations (speed slot, etc.) in some of their clubs.

If you ever see some on Marketplace or EBay don’t hesitate. The “reboot” a few years ago was a bust and clearly not driven by Barney Adams vision however anything in good shape pre-2012 is probably top shelf.

Barney Adams created the BGT company making some cool putter and driver shafts so it lives on a bit at least!
