This or that?

I’m a new golfer, I’ve got some Titleist DCI irons that I got off marketplace for $100. I plan to keep playing those for a while but I’m already looking at their replacements even if they sit in the closet for a while.

This miura/mizuno set is posted on marketplace locally for $350 and I’m a sucker for Japanese craftsmanship. That’s why I’ve been eyeballing them. I’ve got a seiko watch, all shimano fishing gear, Hondas etc. quality seems to be culture in Japan I’m always happy with their products.

However, I’ve learned of Maltby irons today. Forged iron sets, brand new, for a not so bad price. I also could get a game improvement set to compliment my experience level.

What do you guys think is the better choice? Am I letting my Japanese bias get in the way of an otherwise obvious answer? Or is the marketplace set a good bang for my buck?

Why not wulder

I just started playing yesterday after the open weekend announcement at tennocon. I’m really enjoying the game so far.

Something I’m not understanding, weapons are dropping all of the time, some with 2 or 3 tempers. However, my level 14 wulder clears and has no virtue requirement. Why would I ever switch weapons? Do weapons eventually scale to match the level of the enemy that drops them? Should I just scrape all these drops for the mats?

Either way just did the siege on Fort curlail while looking for this second world tree, really enjoying DEs slower and focused combat compared to my Uriel/Burston incarnon room clearing on WF. I’ll probably put a lot of time in to this one.

I want to quit

I’m 24 years old and I have problem now that if I don’t fix will undoubtedly ruin me for years to come. I never visioned myself in this position.

A few years ago you’re chilling with your buddies. “hey download this app throw some money in we can bet on the games” fuck it why not, right? It’s a couple bucks we’ll have a good time.

The night passes and you jump on the app randomly a few days later “slots huh, on an app, has to be more rigged than the ones at the casino”

You play, you lose, you expected that. Throughout the year more drinking days and parlays are had with your buddy’s it’s all in good fun, a couple more random spins on the slots every now and then why not. It’s casual it’s not hurting anyone, it’s cheaper than a night out.

I don’t believe that people who lose consistently become problem gamblers, I don’t believe people who quit every time they double up become problem gamblers, people who win big or people that win often become problem gamblers.

In as little detail as possible in hopes to prevent triggers one day an impossible parlay hits nothing stays the same after that. I chase the parlay dragon for a while but keep a decent amount of the winnings until I find my next vice, progressive slots. Progressive slots seemed to walk the line of give and take so perfectly that they destroyed my ability to just say no to a deposit. I fight that demon for a year or so all from my phone. I self exclude for one year from every available app in my state, hoping to return to the days of casual bets with the boys once that year is up. Once you’ve been hooked once there is never anything casual again.

I return in a much different position than before, I’m making good money from my job with more disposable income. Progressives grip never loosened even with a year off I find myself back at their mercy. Eating through disposable income down to the savings down to paycheck to paycheck with increasing debt when I made more than enough money to cover my living expenses. Another year ban across all apps.

I find myself trying to replace gambling with some more productive ways to make money, I get into Pokemon cards (still gambling) sparked by nostalgia and fueled by the same mindset I had with slots. I give it up, I discover crypto and stock options, I’m an investor I tell myself. Still a degenerate gambler. Crypto opens the door for me to crypto casinos, square 1.

Crypto Casinos my most recent vice are forcing me to look much deeper than a 1 year ban, some of them don’t even have a RG sections or options to ban myself. I’ve burnt so much money through these shady websites that it genuinely makes me sick to think of the numbers. I can’t seem to stay away though. I want to quit but the urge grabs me and eats away at me. I’m sure you all know the feeling, the things you brain tells you to log in, to deposit, deposit again deposit again deposit again. Another week’s pay gone in half an hour.

I’m not homeless yet, I’m not in a financial crisis yet, I’m not dead yet. These things seem impending though reliant on how the next deposit treats me. I need help and this is the first time admitting that, I want to fix these things before the real life consequences become too much for me to handle on my own. Before I have to trust another person to manage my finances for me. I don’t know that I have anyone who can do that, cash my checks, monitor my bills, buy my groceries, save for vacations all on my behalf just because I’m irresponsible. I don’t want to live that way so I’m here looking for any resources that you have. Please drop them below and say a prayer for me if you believe because lord knows I’ve been fighting, and losing.

Help with which tools to use

TLDR: need excel bot/automation that can read sheets and do formulas and spit out new sheets

Sales guy trying to make my job easier. My company has been slow to adopt and implement as the years have passed and a lot of things are still subject to operator error.

I’m working with our production group now to build some things out to help us move forward. I’m currently using co-pilot to help me build a tool to track quotes and production inside Msoft power apps. It’s going okay so far, I had to switch to regular co-pilot with vision because copilot 365 didn’t seem to be as reliable.

Once I complete this project and get it working, I want to build something to help us order material for jobs a little bit easier. We get a list of what the customer needs typically in excel format then we have a guy who goes through that list and tell us what to order. I want something that can read that bill of material, do some formulas and give me what we need to order. The excel sheets look different depending on who the customer is but I could probably get a standard format for them all if that would help. Which tools would you use for this? Would I have to build something myself from scratch or could an LLM agent do something like this?

Every day I see you guys pop up on my feed I want to get involved, are you guys tradings options or swing trading shares or just accumulating positions? Different strategies for everyone?

Recommended resources to learn and get started? I’d hate to burn 10K before earning 10K 🤣

I’d love to be a part of a community that’s successful and join the team.

Is anyone here working a kind of work at your own pace job not selling insurance or credit card readers?

I’ve got a full time job, it’s an excellent company I have great benefits and while it’s called a sales role the amount of selling done is laughable. It’s B2B in the steel industry, hunting for new clients isn’t typical. With the current market conditions our production team is booked through the end of the year we are cherry picking jobs we want at dumb prices. While I make a decent salary, the commission is also laughable which is to be expected. I have no desire to leave, the long term growth potential in the company for someone like me is absurd.

With all that being said, coming from a full commission role before this I still have that desire to hustle and make my own paycheck and get the high of truly closing deals. Afraid if I don’t use my skills I lose them lol. I’m east coast US so I’m wondering if there’s anything I could do remote for a west coast company to make decent commission on something high ticket or high volume that actually pays well enough on 10-15 hours a week. Does anyone do something like this? Is this a unicorn request or something that’s realistic? Where would you look?

Any advice is appreciated, thanks for reading/responding

TLDR: 1099 part time sales, 10-15 hours a week, good commission on top of full time job. Is it realistic/obtainable? If you’ve found it, where?
