I bought a sports card with a jersey patch. Seller shipped it in semi-rigid holder in a plain white envelope. The card arrived with creases. Here is the exchange.
Me: This card came creased above and below the jersey. How to you want to handle this? (I included pictures of the damage)
Seller: I will make a full refund just send me a picture of the card cut in 4 pieces. It will expedite the refund. Thanks
I thought that was nuts. My next action was starting a return through ebay
Seller: ill gladly accept a return on this. please send a picture of the card cut in 4 so i can expediate payment. regards kevin
Me: Absurd request. The card is a thick jersey card. A handsaw would be needed. I am willing to ship card back if a pre paid label is provided. If this can t be worked out I will ask Ebay for assistance in a refund.
Seller: just deface the card dramatically to expediate the return and send me a photo., That way we dont waste money and time and i can refund today
Ok, seller, per his listing, doesn't take returns. Ebay return policy says I have 3 days from delivery to start a return because of damage (never noticed that before). I didn't notice at first and it has been over a week since delivered and me contacting seller. The item was cheap but still have a few questions.
A. Is the seller's request nuts?
B. Am I screwed out of refund with ebay's new return policy?
C. If I deface the card, couldn't the seller just say I ruined it and refuse a refund?
