My postage has expired what can I do?

So I sold a pricey item last week, i immediately made a postage stamp with the qr code. Didnt send it out last last Saturday (2 weeks ago). I then went on vacation and only returned Saturday last week to such I got it all packaged up and ready to send today until I realised it’s been expired. I don’t know how to get around this.

What the heck is going on with postage?

Twice today, I'm packaging up merchandise to send out, and eBay is charging me twice the postage the buyer paid. I ask buyers to pay postage, and I always enter accurate postage weight and dimensions in the appropriate places, so technically the buyer should be paying correct postage based on where they live. This has happened a few times in the last few months; sometimes it's 50 cents or so, and sometimes it's $6 more (today). I feel somewhat taken advantage of. eBay is a great platform that allows my merchandise to reach a broad buying public, but the fees it charges buyers and sellers and now this postage glitch upset me. Does anyone else have experience like this?

Is eBay costing too much or should I focus on my own site?

Follow up. Okay here are the pictures from Jan 2026- Now. Is this normal? I feel like I’m paying way too many fees. This is just the product I’ve sold on eBay too, this is not counting my own website. Im a registered LLC and this is just a side job/hobby for me at the moment, but that’s all costs.

I felt like I was paying too much on advertising with my own site so I wanted to focus more on eBay.

How Do You File A Claim With USPS For eBay Standard Delivery Purchases Not Arriving?

I have bought and sold hundreds of items on eBay over the last ten years, but over the course of the last month I have made three purchases that were shipped using “eBay standard delivery”, all purchased at different times from different sellers.

None of the items arrived, all had limited tracking, but all were marked as delivered on eBay. They were not. I contacted neighbors to see if maybe they were delivered by mistake, but nobody claimed to have gotten anything. eBay denied my claims, so I figured I need to try to go through USPS to file a claim, but USPS told me the tracking numbers aren’t valid and if they were shipped by usps in anyway then I’d need accurate tracking numbers.

Has anyone dealt with this before? How did you file claims with usps or resolve your issues?

What is going on with eBay search?

I am looking for a specific vintage ballpoint pen to purchase. I searched for the manufacturer and model and specified “Ballpoint Pens” as the category. Result is 37 matches. (Pic # 1)

Then since I know sometimes items aren’t listed in the correct category, I searched under the more general category “Pens” expecting to get the same number of matches or perhaps more. Result is 34 matches. (Pic #2)

THIS MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL. Any match in my first search should have also been in my second search. Why can’t eBay get something as fundamental as searching for items correct?

Silly eBay Sellers With Their Own Made Up Definitions

Seen a phone seller says very good condition then contradicts themselves by saying screen has image burn in and pink screen

Last I checked very good is like minor blemishes, an image burn in or pink hue burned screen is worse than very good and a high priced repair

That would bad or good for parts

Can I dispute this

A buyer has just received an item which I sold, they’re now claiming it’s damaged upon arrival but I have photos to prove that it was never damaged in the places which they’re claiming. I believe they may have done that to make a return/ refund but I’m not sure what I can do to fight it as i know as a fact it was never damaged.

Best course of action?

Hello! So I recently bought a psp sold as near mint and is under the ebay refurbished guarantee. Sold as fully functional.

It ended up coming with a dis functional bumper and joystick. They offered to return or a partial refund. I went with the later because I figured I can repair it being the internals are pretty easy to come by but the shell is in really great condition which is hard to come by unless choosing a much pricier option. I messaged the seller as shown including once after this 2 days later asking for an update with no response but I seen them putting new listings up for new items between from then and now.

I have a feeling they won’t ever respond so what’s my best course of action? They offered a partial refund and I did everything on my part to meet what was requested. I want to keep it because as previously mentioned the good condition shell is harder to come by but it seems like my only option is to put in a return request or is there some sort of guarantee I get some money back if I contact ebay because they offered a partial refund? Not really experienced with all this so looking for advice on what I can do! If not I will most likely just bite the bullet and repair it myself

How long did it take you to start getting consistent sales?

I'm just curious about everyone else's experience. How long did it take before you started getting regular sales on eBay?

I finally got my first sale after about 7 months, but I ended up having to cancel it because the shipping distance made it not worth it. It was definitely discouraging after waiting that long.

For those of you who stuck with it, when did things start to pick up? Did you change anything, or did sales just come with time?

First ever return, seller sent return label for a service that does not exist in my country. How to proceed?

Hello! I've never returned anything I bought from eBay in my 25 years on the platform. After buying I quickly realized the seller was dropshipping counterfeits, but apparently the item was already on its way from the warehouse (Read: China). Took nearly 3 weeks from a store in "England" to Sweden.

Now, upon receiving the item I documented the unpacking with a video and photos and opened a return case. The seller then sent me a return label for Royal Mail, which does not exist here. They are not responding to messages. How do I proceed? The return is supposed to be shipped in two weeks. Thanks! =)

Are large orders(greater than $1-9mil) normal for ebay?..

So im doing some late night research, and all right. Im seeing the normal sales orders of 1-10 or maybe the occasional $10k sale for a bulk buy with alot of small orders, maybe. But then I stumble across some $100-200k orders.. and then more.. 1m, 8m, 9m, different sellers, categories, amounts, and days.. idk, was there an issue for a few weeks and all orders got slapped together or some weird stuff? Because most categories ive search have max.. 10k.. for one individual order. Yet there's millions in a single order? Is this normal???

Why does a delivered + proof + happy customer still sometimes turn into a chargeback?

This is one of those things that’s been messing with my head lately.

You ship an order, tracking shows delivered, no support tickets, nothing. then weeks later you wake up to a chargeback saying the customer didn’t authorize or never received it.

Meanwhile other times you’ll have actual issues where you refund someone quickly, they confirm it, and somehow it still ends up as a dispute anyway.

It just feels like there’s this weird gap between what actually happens in the business and what the payment system decides happened.

I get that fraud exists, and I get that customers can be protected, but the consistency is what throws me off. sometimes it feels like evidence matters, sometimes it doesn’t, and there’s no real feedback loop to learn from.

I’m starting to wonder if other people just accept this as normal and build around it.

Should I message buyer?

I sold a new unopened figure and realized I forgot to add in the description that a piece part of the item got dislodged from its place in the packaging. The main picture of it does show the piece out of place but I worry they may not have noticed it before buying or even think it’s not new. Should I double check if they still want it or just ship it out?

Seller offered cancellation in messages but now is denying cancellation request. Can eBay resolve this issue?

Ordered a pre order item on 6/16 from seller with the understanding the seller would ship as soon as the item arrived. Estimated delivery date 7/9 - 7/13. I messaged the seller at the end of June to see if they had an update in regard to the item.

Seller states that the item now won’t arrive until late July 7/27 projected delivery date to the seller. Seller says let me know if you want to cancel the order. I respond that I still want the item.

A few days go by and I reach back out to the seller asking if we can cancel the order as I don’t want to wait for the item any longer.

Seller states they’re unable to cancel the order now because eBay sent them the payment for the order already. Seller offers me a used item that they can ship right away as an alternative. I decline the used item and said I guess I’ll have to wait unfortunately.

After reading the support articles I found out the buyer is still allowed to cancel, as the item has not been shipped yet.

Seller won’t respond to my messages now. What can I do? Would eBay side with me if a dispute is opened?

Explaining low ball offers to a lowballer

I sell retro video games and vintage toys. Most of my listed inventory is BIN with offers turned off. If you’re a seller, you know that means people will just message you with offers . Usually I ignore offers. I consider lowball but this morning, I was feeling in a charitable mood.

I received a message asking if I would sell a game for less thannhalf the listing price. Instead of ignoring the offer, I replied, hoping maybe that the person who made the message could understand why I said no, and maybe in the future think a little bit more before making lowball offers?

Item Nintendo game, PriceCharting at 17, me selling for $18.95 with free shipping.
Random eBayer: Would you do 10?

Me: Hi! i’m going to have to say no to that. But I want to explain why as maybe my explanation could help you make offers to other sellers in the future.

This game is $18.95 with free shipping.

First, when you see free shipping, it means the seller has bundled the cost of shipping into the price. USPS ground advantage costs an average of $5.50, sometimes a little bit more depending on how far away you are from me. That means I’m asking a little over $14 for the game itself.

Video game sellers rely on a website called PriceCharting, which tracks the sales price of video games. On PriceCharting this game (loose cartridge) version is $17.05. So I'm already selling the game below PriceCharting value.

You’re offering me $10. With $5.50 for shipping, that means you’re really asking if I would sell you a $17 game for $4.50 (or even less if you’re really far away from me).

Playboy removed

Here’s a question for anyone who ha been through a listing issue ban with EBay. I’d love to know if anyone has a good reason for this.

I have an issue of Playboy that got dinged for “compromising minor policy” I contested it and lost. My reasoning was I searched for the exact issue and found dozens of them on eBay. So there are dozens of the exact same issue up, but mine has to come down. This is the Charlie’s Angels issue where they posed. I looked inside. There’s no under age that I can see. I guess my question is can anyone tell me why mine was removed. My auction description was just the name of the magazine, the date and the condition and it was listed in magazines where all the other issues are. Is this due to some keyboard warrior complaining and EBay just doesn’t wanna deal with it so they take it down? I was kind of surprised that they upheld the ban even though I pointed out that there are dozens of the same issue on their site right now.

Thanks

Whether to believe a seller

I recently bought an item from a seller and he’s claiming his phone isn’t working after I left a bad review. He’s claiming that his phone wasn’t working when I ordered and when I asked for any notifications on the item because it was late (because he didn’t send it.) I left a bad review because he wasn’t responding to any communications now he’s claiming. he got an email when I left a review. is it possible that he didn’t get notified when the order was made and when I messaged him afterwards, but did when I left a bad review

Added context in April I messaged him enquiring about said product and he responded pretty quickly which he advised me not to buy due to compatibility issues which I later cleared up with maker of said product

I had a listing removed for a book because ebay said it violated the counterfeit policy

So im trying to wrap my head around how ebay says this program book is a fake

I never said there are autographs or anything, there was nothing special about it.

Just plain and simple program book from the Fedorov retirement...that was bought from the team store

I appealed sent pictures of the book and they said they cant grant an appeal because its counterfeit.

How?

And there are countless other sellers selling the exact same book...same description and all...some with no description at all.

Could this be a vindictive action from a possible buyer?

I had a few offer me $5 for the book and I said no and or along the lines of possibly finding it that cheap elsewhere.

Overbidding

If a bid is active for like $5, and I bid for 200, don’t I just pay 5.50 at the end? This seems like it should be against rules.

If I pause sales for 15 days, and have a 10 day handling time, does it add up to 25 days?

If I pause my ebay sales for 15 days, but allow buyers to still make purchases, and I also have 10 day handling time on all my items, does this add up to 25 days?

I understand I will lose some sales with this extended delay for shipping, but I sell pretty unique items, so my buyers are usually happy to wait so long as they get the items. I only sell as a side gig, so I don't care about losing sales when I am away, because I can drop my handling time back to a few days, when I get back from vacation.
