My son is almost 2 and has been in daycare since he was 4 months old. He's never been the best napper, even at home, but he's always taken at least a one hour nap. Well in the last 2 weeks he's decided to completely give up on napping as a whole. He does not nap at daycare at all. It's so frustrating because he does at home, but he screams and cries and stresses out the teachers at daycare. He also has been biting. He bites another child 1-2 times a week and it's very distressing for us. The director at our daycare had a meeting with us about it and said it isn't normal for his age to bite this frequently. but then we brought him to a occupational therapy evaluation session and they say he doesn't qualify because he's hitting all his milestone's perfectly.
This post really makes my little guy sound like a lot, but he's so sweet and the light of our lives. we're transitioning to a new daycare soon (not because of the biting, but because it's closer to our house / cheaper) and my partner and I are worried about these same habits going to this new place.
TLDR:
Any advice for a worried parent with a 2 year old refusing to nap and frequently biting at daycare?
