Do they also check merit / 12th boards percentage for addmision?

Today me and my friends went inside a dense forest which is situated near a big temple. It was around 4-5 pm. Locals do enter the forest but it was really quite when we entered. After walking for like 12-13 mins we encountered a herd of elephants in front of us like 12-13 steps ahead. We panicked and ran, luckily they didn't chase us or whatever reason. We got scared but now we still want to visit the view point inside the forest. We are planning to visit again.
