Need clarity on Kamakhya VIP Darshan process

Hi everyone,

Need some guidance regarding Maa Kamakhya Darshan.

We somehow managed to get the online VIP darshan pass for 28th May after trying for several days. But sadly, that’s also the same day as our return flight home.

Our VIP darshan slot is from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, but our flight from Guwahati airport is at 11:40 AM, so we’re a bit worried about timing.

I wanted to understand a few things from people who have recently visited:

- How early should we reach if we already have the online VIP pass?

- Is there a separate queue/entry for online pass holders?

- Roughly how long does the darshan usually take with this pass?

- Realistically, would it be risky to attempt darshan with an 11:40 AM flight?

- If the queue is moving too slowly and we feel we may miss our flight, are we allowed to leave the line midway?

I also spoke to the Panda selected during booking, and he mentioned that if we make an ₹11k donation, we can skip the line completely and get direct darshan.

Honestly, I’m not looking to bypass the process or anything like that. I just want clarity on whether standing in the normal VIP pass queue is manageable and practical considering our flight timing.

Would really appreciate recent experiences or honest advice from anyone who has visited recently.

Jai Maa Kamakhya 🙏

Any Assamese living in Germany? How is your experience?

Im moving to Germany after a year for university, most probably Hamburg or Aachen. Any Assamese students/professionals in Germany? Especially in Hamburg or other major cities. I wanted to know how your experience has been living in Germany as an Assamese person, and whether you were able to find other fellow Assamese people or communities there. How difficult was adjusting socially, culturally, and language wise? And do you feel left out and disconnected from our home state at times?

As someone from a non-Assamese background raised in Assam, where do people like us belong?

I grew up in Assam, studied Assamese, know Assamese language and culture, and my family has been here for generations. Assam feels like home to me. In some ways, I know more about Assamese culture than my own background because this is what I grew up around.

But I often see strong anger online toward Bengalis, Biharis, Marwaris, etc. with claims that these communities are harming Assam, changing demographics, taking rights, or threatening Assamese identity. I understand concerns about preserving language, culture, land, and illegal immigration. Those concerns matter.

What I’m trying to understand is how do people separate those concerns from people who were born and raised here and consider Assam their only home?

If someone’s family has lived in Assam for generations, speaks Assamese, celebrates Assamese culture, contributes to society, and genuinely loves Assam where are they supposed to belong?

I’ve seen people say things like “go back,” but back where? For many of us, Assam is the only home we know. Some people in our ancestral states wouldn’t even see us as their own either.

Also, a genuine question would removing entire communities realistically solve Assam’s biggest problems like yearly floods and river erosion, unemployment, lack of industrial growth, infrastructure and healthcare gaps, corruption, poverty in some regions, or limited opportunities for students and professionals etc. Or are these separate problems that need different solutions?

I’m not denying that some individuals cause problems. Every community has people who do. But is it fair to judge whole groups, including people who’ve spent generations here?

I’m asking because I want to understand the perspective respectfully. Not to argue!

Exploring the hidden backroads of Meghalaya on a Bullet 350. Sound on.

No music, no cuts, no cinematic transitions—just the raw POV of cruising through the greenest hills in the country. Meghalaya’s countryside is genuinely something else.

How many of you prefer a completely solo, unplanned ride over a strictly mapped-out group itinerary?
