Quick little Big Scioty arrangement
Had an hour to put together an AABB arrangement for Big Sciota last night before I went out for a show. Not my cleanest work by any means, but I’m really happy with how the melodics came out!

So I’ve been working as a full time machinist, a mix of part time and full time, for about two years at this point, no formal training, just on the job experience mostly working with metals from aluminum to titanium.
However, as my side projects start to grow, I find myself about to dip into a world that i would beg to say hobby machinists know best - machining wood, more so, machining maple. I have a couple mills and routers at my disposal and before I begin, I’d like to see what are your experiences machining maple in terms of stress relief, finishing and finish tolerance. Coming from the metallurgy world, we are talking about grains, not fibers, so as much as I would like to say the fundamentals of finishing and tolerance apply, I know it’s a completely different world. So if anyone has tips or tricks on machine maple, or even wood for that matter, I would love to hear it!
