📌 A gentle reminder for international members

Mabuhay!

We’ve seen significant growth in the sub recently, including a noticeable influx of international members, employers, and freelancers. We genuinely appreciate the global interest in our community!

However, we want to issue a quick reminder about the core purpose of r/GraphicDesignPH: this is a localised space built specifically for Filipino graphic designers and creatives residing in the Philippines.

To keep the feed relevant, practical, and useful for our core demographic, we kindly ask everyone to keep the following guidelines in mind before posting:

  • Job postings must be accessible to PH designers: We’ve recently seen several job postings seeking to hire for on-site roles overseas (such as in India and other countries). Please remember that our members are based in the Philippines. If you are an international employer looking to hire talented designers from this sub, please ensure the position is 100% remote.
  • Service offerings and self-promotion: Our primary goal is to foster the local PH design industry, share local resources, and help Filipino creatives connect with each other. While we welcome international collaboration, posts offering freelance services should be highly relevant to the Philippine market. Generic service promotions from overseas may be removed to keep the feed clear for local networking.

We love seeing the community grow and are happy to welcome clients who want to work with Filipino talent. We just want to ensure this subreddit remains the helpful, localised hub it was meant to be.

Thank you for understanding, and keep creating!

📢 Subreddit Rule Update: Changes to Job-Seeking and Hiring Posts

Hey everyone,

As our community has grown, we’ve noticed a massive influx of "Looking for Work" and job-seeking posts flooding the subreddit lately. While we completely understand the hustle and want everyone to succeed, the sheer volume is beginning to clutter the feed and distract from the main focus of our community.

To keep the subreddit organized and high-quality, we are updating our rules regarding job-related content:

🚫 What is NO LONGER allowed:

Effective immediately, we are no longer allowing job-seeking posts. Any posts from individuals looking for work, sharing resumes, or asking to be hired will be removed. (Optional: If you want to share your skills, please keep an eye out for our weekly megathread / redirect them to a specific subreddit like r/forhire*).*

✅ What IS allowed (and highly encouraged!):

Employers offering jobs! We still want to be a place where our members can find great opportunities. If you are an employer, a business owner, or someone actively looking to hire people from this community, your posts are strictly allowed and very much appreciated.

If you are posting a job offer, please make sure to include:

  • A clear description of the role.
  • Whether it is remote, hybrid, or on-site.
  • Compensation details (or a clear range).

Thank you all for understanding and helping us keep this subreddit a great place to browse. If you have any questions or feedback about this change, feel free to drop them in the comments below!

Things we've done so far:

  • Introduce Kapampangan Mondays
  • We've temporarily banned a specific photoshoot studio where, every day, there's a post about it.
  • I am thinking of organizing a Pickleball meetup where everyone is welcome to join
