Finished my first YS game today! (YS Memoire: The Oath in Felghana)

I’ve owned a few of these games for awhile now but never got around to committing to them. Mainly my own fault, but I digress. I randomly saw someone doing one of the boss fights in this game and on impulse decided to grab it because I had some unexpected Eshop credit sitting.

When I tell you this might be the best impulsive purchase I’ve ever made… man… I don’t know what I was expecting from this, but I got it and more.

Being on the shorter side was favorable for me because I’m juggling a lot of things both in life and games in general because my attention span is horrible these days.

The story was very straightforward. I enjoyed it despite the short length and the few characters that were introduced

Loved the soundtrack throughout. I won’t say it’s an all favorite or even close, but definitely some good tunes here. I think I liked the exploration theme in between going to different locations the most.

I think by far though my favorite thing about this game and the seller for me was the gameplay itself and the difficulty. Some of these bosses were TOUGH. And this was playing on normal. Nothing that was unfair, and was mostly me needing to learn a pattern and not get greedy. Chester V2 was probably one of my favorite boss fights. Gabalan was probably the most challenging for me getting by phase 2 but it was also an incredible fight and a very rewarding victory.

Definitely going to do a second run of this on inferno eventually, and also going to do the boss rush mode. 15 or so hours well spent and I can see myself getting a lot more out of this one.

Not sure which YS game I’ll tackle next. I started VIII on my steam deck awhile back so I might return to that soon. I also own IX and Origins.

In any case so glad I finished this game and looking forward to getting into the rest of the series!

Mom (67) has struggled with high blood pressure for awhile, she’s been stubborn about the doctor but finally got in last week to which her pressure was INCREDIBLY high. She’s already does things like daily walks and uses my cardio indoor bike. They gave her Losartan yesterday (a low dose I believe) and she’s taken a dose yesterday and today.

The thing is taking her pressure today she noticed it was even higher than it was at the doctor. For added context me and her both suffer from severe levels of anxiety. I think her anxiety is definitely spiking things.

My question is, is this a medication where she won’t see results until after maybe a week or so with her being older, if being a low dose, and her pressure being pretty high? She’s in her head right now about it and it’s very noticeable so I just want to make sure I’m relaying factual information to her

For more context, she is not obese and does not have any other health issues besides high cholesterol which she also got medicine for.
