A case for folding the Ranger back into F-series
88 ranger was my first vehicle, drove F-150’s for a decade and a half, and currently drive a Maverick.
I was coming of driving age when the throwback arms race was starting with the T-bird and really got into cars when the throwback Mustang came out (then came Charger, Challenger, GTO which didn’t count, etc.)
It’s no secret the Tacoma outsells the Ranger 4-to-1 and the Maverick is outselling it 2-to-1.
Since it started as a trim level of the “half ton” F-100, I think that’s the perfect way to solve the identity issues. F-series badging gives it credibility and solidifies it as the slightly smaller more economical version of the 150, and creates distance from the Mav.
