I've seen people talk about fire and gas, but both lack the range and the gas can make them kill each other, activating the cocaine cloud.

None of the laser weapons do, not even the orbital.

Try the following:

Laser Sentry
Laser Cannon
Laser Rover
Orbital laser
Scythe
Dagger.
Pyrotech (for holes mostly)

Voilà! no more orange cloud.
