Quick little mock up of a Super Destroyer Formation option / ship upgrade "Autopilot Disabled".

Stage 1 - Pick Drop Point
This would be as you know it already, everyone gets in their Hellpods, then the host chooses the drop point, with others Divers being able to suggest locations.

Stage 2 - Choose Formation (New)
Once the drop point has been chosen, rather than immediately going to the stratagem loadout screen, a new series of options will appear for the host. They will be able to pick the Super Destroyer formation for the mission. Options could be:

  • Cardinal
    • One Destroyer in each cardinal direction (North / East / South / West)
  • Overwatch
    • The Destroyers are spread out evenly across the map, providing complete overwatch.
  • Centeral
    • The Destroyers will cluster up in the centre of the map.

For city missions, the formation choice will be locked to Cardinal, while being able to reposition during the mission as they do currently.
The choice of formations could help Divers with their Orbital stratagem targeting on planets with odd terrain.

Stage 3 - Stratagem Loadout
Once the formation has been chosen, things will proceed as usual.

=====

Now, this could be just a new general step in the pre-dive routine, or it could become available from a Bridge Ship Upgrade. I'm thinking "Autopilot Disabled" as the title.

My squad and I saluting the imminent destruction of the enemies of Democracy (ignore the Watcher on the left, it's only part of your imagination)

Currently having gone 6 missions in a row without dying. Wondering what everyone's record is so far!

Between five missions against the Rupture/Spore Burst strains and now one ICBM mission against the Automatons on Mox, all at lvl 7, I've managed to not die once. I'm feeling really accomplished, and it's got me wondering what everyone's personal best record is for missions survived consecutively?

Since we don't have many of them, 3 red stratagems (and 2 more that kinda could be considered red)

  • Orbital Telluric Warhead: a bunker buster missile that explodes deep underground to unleash a localized earthquake. The impact itself is something like a precision strike, but after one second it generates a tremor (like the the planet modifier) and destroys spawners, prefabs, houses, containers and so on in a large radius. Long cooldown.
  • Orbital Railcannon Killzone: the beacon remains in place for 30 seconds: during that period of time, every six seconds the super destroyer will fire the railcannon to a random large target in the area around it. Large targets include the usual enemies, but also mechs, bastion tanks, mechs, FRVs. Long cooldown
  • Eagle Dark Fluid Bomb: the eagle drops a large canister of dark fluid, that generates a singularity in the area. A small black hole spawns, and casually roams around for a while like a fire tornado, inflicting massive damage to whatever it touches. Nearby helldivers are sucked inside (remember when the eruptor's explosion pulled you towards it instead than blowing you away?). 1 bomb per eagle resupply, doesn't benefit from the super destroyer improvement.
  • Orbital laser entrenchment swipe: simply, call the orbital laser to quickly draw a straight line, and it leaves behind a trench deep enough for helldivers to use as cover.
  • Remote Controlled Orbital Laser (a.k.a. Hammer of Dawn): simply, a version of the orbital laser that you can guide around with a targeter like the one of the solo silo. Perfect for a Gears of War collaboration.

Did you know you can bait hulks or other heavy automatons to destroy buildings?

With the recent AP increase to 4 many enemy can now do that.

It's a travesty I tell you!!

I finally unlocked the Heritage Olive pattern for all my vehicles and the clearly WWI inspired warbond doesn't have the tank painted like a WWI tank.

I am never playing this game again!/s

I made a Concept for Past Operations being added to the Past Campaigns tab

Obviously there are ALOT of major orders not present here, some could surely be combined into proper operations, a lot would be independent from one another.

I tried to come up with some names for unofficial operations like

- Iron Reckoning (The Reclamation)
- Ascendent Forge (DSS Construction)
- Event Horizon (Meridia Advancing)
- Unyielding Heart (Battle for Super Earth).

As far as I know they did not get official operation names or were not operations to begin with. But I mainly focused on the major events.

I would love a major order tree alongside the campaign tree because not every major order would be a campaign, same with strategic opportunities, minor orders etc. But really the major events are the important part of all this. We don't need EVERYTHING, just the key details. But there are some big time gaps between some of these.

Screenshots from various sources, in-game, wiki etc. Could definitely do with better header images.
