When I downloaded 2 on game-pass when it was on there i somehow had the foresight to turn the language to Ukrainian, because the setting is Ukrainian so the Ukrainians should obviously speak it.
And beyond that, Ukrainian is the original dialect for the game and its creators, so the emotion and vocal context is best suited for Ukrainian with English subtitles.
And when I started playing 1 like a week or so ago l continued to do so.

Now every time I click on a YouTube video I get flash banged by the most fathomable American there are possible.
No disrespect for the voice actors but man it is SOMETHING.

Skiff is particularly egregious and any time he speaks in English I recoil pure cringe.

I know certain accents do have sort of "equivalents" in other places, like with Arnold Schwarzenegger he sounds like a big burly beast of a man to English speakers, but apparently in native Austrian he sounds like a country bumpkin.
So to a life long Ukrainian speaker, Skiff, Strelok, and Scars dialects in English maybe sound normal and equivalent to the English dub?

Regardless the English dub just sounds real funny to me.

Are there any Ukrainian speakers who can weigh in their two cents?

Hey I’m pretty much a newbie to stalker. I played 2 when it was on gamepass, got the Strelok ending, liked it, then I bought stalker 1, forgot about it, then didn’t touch it until a few days ago.

I’ve liked it pretty well so far, and I’ve gotten a good amount through it (I think).

However, I am stuck at the brain scorcher.

I can only get to just after the wish granter cutscene, then the monolith keep one tapping me.

I am on novice mode ( don’t judge I’m a newbie)

I have an AS-VAL (SA Avalanche)
Spas-12 ( SPSA-14)
SVU
And USP (UPD)

All with an alright amount of ammo by the point I am at.

And I am using a stalker suit. (Broken by the point I got to)
So is it my gear?

I’m doing this just after reaching the freedom base, and have done the snitch mission. Neither duty nor freedom hate me. And I have a save at freedoms base before going to the red Forrest.

Am I supposed to have an exoskeleton by this point or something? Do I need to tread back and do other missions?

I mean getting to that point already was done by running past all of the monolith in the red Forrest, I didn’t really use up all that much health or med kits or ammo getting there.

So maybe it’s that, and I just need to approach it better?

What am I missing?
