Second obstruction surgery due to eating fur. Help!

I'm at a loss for what to do about my Golden Retriever. She is 2.5 years old and has a history of eating things she should not eat. She has gotten SO much better about not eating random objects but I cannot get her to stop pulling out her fur and eating it. Typically she passes the fur but today she is going into surgery for the second time because it got stuck. She is on anti-anxiety meds because it definitely seems to be an anxiety issue. Both times she has needed surgery it was right after we went away on vacation and she was with a pet sitter which makes me think she was anxious about being in a new place.

I will be working with the vet to try everything else such as allergy meds and changing foods to rule that out. She is crate trained but rarely spends more than 4 hours in the crate. She also gets a couple of walks a day and we throw the ball in the back yard for her. I plan to buy her a muzzle to wear, however I'm not sure if it's safe for her to wear a muzzle in a crate if we aren't home?

Is there anything else I can do? Anything I'm missing that I can try?

Which starter looks better?

It's been 12 days since I put my first starter together. Around day 8 I put the starter into two jars and did a 1:1:1 ratio with the other jar being 1:2:2. Today I did the same thing with jar A (on the left) mixing together a 1:1:1 ratio using half unbleached and half whole wheat flour. In jar B I did a 1:2:1 ratio with half unbleached and half whole wheat to make it more stiff as my Jar A starter seemed very runny.

Jar A has been rising slower than Jar B and didn't even double today. It also has more of that acetone smell. Jar B doubled in about 8-10 hours at 68/70 degrees in my house. It smells better than Jar A too.

Jar A has lots of bubbles on top and Jar B doesn't seem to have many bubbles on top but has bigger bubbles under the surface.

Which are we thinking looks better? Any thoughts or tips for how I should proceed?

Home service's/Family task Manager

Hi all!

I know this isn't a new idea but I'm looking to start a one woman show in my area.

I would like to take on a book of clients, specifically dual-income families, families with young children, seniors who need extra help, etc. My service would provide household management including grocery shopping, meal prep, light cleaning, laundry, organization, decluttering, and more. Basically any task that eats up family time or tasks that get left behind because there are more important things to do.

I would start by taking on 1-2 clients that need 4-8 hours of service either weekly or biweekly. I would also offer one-off services of 2 hours or more if needed.

I would meet with each family to determine needs and get a feel for their routine and preferences and build on that over time.

Thoughts on the need for this service? The business model? What would you charge? To give you an idea of rates in this area, I was recently quoted $300 per house cleaning of my 2400 sq ft home. It will probably be 3-4 hours of service for that $300.

Please be kind as I am just in the initial stages of considering to do this and have never started a business before 🙂
