Need help deciding over a CD player or an MP3 player

I've been trying to get off of my box of misery but I notice I tend to grab for it because I want to listen to music, which eventually leads me into scrolling for hours or listening to 30 seconds of every song.

I'm debating whether replacing my phone with an ipod would be a good idea. I mostly use spotify when I'm on my phone now BUT I'm still a little bit old school so I download and save mp3s to my computer for listening or burning onto CDs. (I also collect CDs, used to have a radio but had to sell it about a year ago)

Checked out the price of MP3 players, Sheesh a lot of them look expensive. I wouldn't mind paying 100 for a MP3 player but I would want it to be good (No apple music or bluetooth). It seems really tricky trying to pick something that isn't too modern but not too old to have virtually no storage. Since I also burn CDs and collect CDs I'm wondering if a portable CD player would be more cost effective and dumb enough for me to not fidget with it. Any recommendations?

Why Do Older Generations Romanize The 70s?

I notice many Gen X say that the 70s was the best time to be alive. Was it really? Heavy drug usage, children on milk cartons, violence; some of the most infamous serial killers started their runs in the 70s. Is there something future generations are missing in the portrayal of the 1970s?

Need Help Prediabetic Friendly Birthday Cake

My birthday is in a few days and I've been trying to keep my blood sugar steady but traditional cake is just too much sugar/carbs for my mind to even comprehend.

Does anyone have any recommendations for my homemade birthday cake without compromising too much of the flavor of the cake? I'm not really a fan of "sugar free" unless it actually tastes good.

I'm making a Funfetti cake! The mix I have so far is Simple Mills almond flour vanilla cake (great alternative because I love the nutty flavor of almond flour) Still trying to decide what to do for the sprinkles and making the icing. I'm hoping simple buttercream will be just fine but I'm very open to suggestions for alternatives to traditional white powdered sugar.

Has anyone had any experience making a cake like this?

Cultural Update Chinese Inspired Fit

I didn't play DTI when the first cultural update came out, so I was really excited to try out something different. My look is inspired by high rank ancient Chinese empresses. I'm not myself Chinese, but I think it's great that we are encouraged to explore everyone's cultures! I'm hoping next year will include my nationality (Peru) but we will have to wait and see!

What is your least favorite thing/part about sewing?

No matter what skill level you’re at what is the worst or least favorite thing about sewing or working on a project?

When I started my least favorite part was cutting patterns, mostly because I couldn’t keep my hands from shaking and cutting on the floor does so much damage on my back.

Need tips for making plush bonnet!

I’m looking to make a plush bonnet like this picture. I’m a beginner at sewing and I’m a little confused one whether I should just follow a pattern for a normal sleep bonnet and replace the fabric with the satin and faux fur. Would I need any interfacing for any of this? (I’m not entirely sure what interfacing is used for to be honest) How can I insure that it ruffles and stays stretchy instead of sagging? How should the ears be attached? Sorry for so many questions, just want to be sure before wasting expensive materials! Any tips will help, thank you!
