I need some help creating a viable USB-C charging option to use in place of the DC5521 Power input supplied for the Waveshare 3S UPS - https://www.waveshare.com/ups-module-3s.htm?sku=23884. From what I have found from my own research, I need to find a module that uses USB-C PD and boosts the output voltage to 12.6V at 2A.

Ideally, it will have the smallest possible footprint because it will be going into a portable handheld computer. 1 solution I found was to use this USB-C PD module set to 15V - https://a.co/d/0291nYVL then connect the output with this adjustable step down - https://a.co/d/09bBDRcb . I am generally more cautious when it comes to anything dealing with power conversions which is what led me here to ask. Always willing to learn as I go, but starting directions are always where I struggle because rabbit holes are easy to go down and generally lead to incorrect answers.

TLDR:
Want to use the following to power my CyberDeck, but want to charge them with a Type-C USB.
- Waveshare 3S UPS
- (3) Samsung 35E 18650 3500mHa 8A Batteries
- Need a solution to use USB-C instead of DC5521 for charging

I tried using Gemini to help debug what’s going on with my touchscreen now working with my beginning cyberdeck build. Initially I tried to just boot up the latest version of Kali hoping it would be automatically detected, when I tried as few different changes to the config file, nothing seemed to work.
I then tried out using Raspberry Pi’s standard 64-bit trixie image and nothing showed up on the screen but the backlight did light up, which was a step closer, but again I couldn’t get actual graphics on the screen.
Then my plan was to test to make sure the screen did actually work by using Waveshares image on their wiki page and it worked fine.
Here are some pictures I took of the Kali config file and some commands Gemini suggested, if more are needed, let me know and I’ll do what I can. The plan is to build this as a mobile Kali device for pen testing practice.

Current hardware:
- Raspberry Pi CM5 16GB lite with wireless
- Waveshare mini base board B carrier board
- 5in Waveshare touchscreen 5-DSI-Touch-B
- Keebdeck keyboard - plugged in via USB for now

For debugging:
- Mini USB mouse
- External HDMI monitor

Before I dive into seeing if I can even hardwire it, I wanted to see if anyone on here has attempted and succeeded or no

I would like to find a potential “drop in” keyboard or something that would be simple-ish to include into a handheld deck I’m working on. I currently have the fosman Bluetooth one in the pictures and may end up just using it, but wanted to see what other options are out there that others have used.
