P2S - the Worst Printer from Bambu Lab?!?

P2S - the Worst Printer from Bambu Lab?!?

Hi 3D-Printer-Fans ;)

I am truly disappointed. I own an A1 mini and have been extremely satisfied with it for three years.

Naturally, I went on to recommend Bambu Lab—specifically, in this instance, a P2S.

Unfortunately, however, this printer has done nothing but cause problems right from the start. Over-extrusion, clogging, and now this print quality (see video).

It’s an absolute joke. I’ve already had to replace the extruder connection board and have also tested a new nozzle. I’ll probably end up having to replace the extruder filament sensor as well.

And yes, the filament was dried (Bambu Matte PLA).

I honestly don't even know where to begin troubleshooting such a terrible print.

Thoughts on the tpu assist module?

I run tpu from time to time and right now do so via top loading.

I am wondering if the tpu assist module is worth the $50. (As well as having to buy a drying container for the roll as it is being used.)

Does it help that much?

Is it worth the price?

eSUN PETG Trouble

So at my workplace, we have 2 P2S thats about 5 months old at this point. and it printed mostly PLA until recently. We had to use PETG since PLA simply wasn't cutting it. and our workplace strictly forbid any material other than PLA and PETG, So we bought some PETG from eSUN. and it prints badly.

First of all, We dried the filament more than 24 hours before use inside ams 2 pro at 65 celcius. and cleaned the build plate using dish soap each attempt. and have tried

- Recalibrating printer

- Cutting first layer speed and acceleratiom by half and tried even lower.

- Trying Generic,BambuLab,eSUN petg profile.

- Flowrate calibration.

- New Build plate

- Another PETG from different batch

- Used latest Orca Slicer and Bambu Studio and Orca slicer Nightly with modified P2S profile.

- Increasing Plate temperature by 5,10,15,20 Celcius.

It prints PLA perfectly fine, and I have no idea my petg its behaving so badly. Any help its appreciated. Thank you.

Quick question about drying and printing.

So I have 2 P2S printers both with their own AMS2 Pro. My question is if they are plugged into the same 120v dual outlet can I dry filament with one Ams while printing with the other printer? Or would it cause issues? Trying not blow a breaker considering it has been rainy for the past 3-4 days

TIA

Nozzle issue??

Just started maintenance on my P2S (just reached 200 hours). I have the back panel off because I’m installing a chamber heater from MartilloTech as well as the P2S Exhaust. When I was looking at the back side of my nozzle (having the back panel off is an interesting perspective) and it looks like the nozzle mounting bracket and/or wiring might be melting a bit - I know, it’s a machine that melts plastic so some of that might be “residue” from prints, but I wanted to run it past y’all for your input.

Do you think the nozzle condition is worrisome or am I being overly paranoid?

Hey AMS! Why Are You Too Harsh?

Why AMS2 Pro gear teeth is so strong to the filament

OR this is normal from extrusion pinion ⚙️?

Printing ASA safely with a P2S

Posting this to show my results FYI and to invite comments on these results. I'm printing a 2 color 3.5 hour print, both filaments are ASA, on my P2S. Black ASA is Polymaker, orange is Tinmorry, both dried for 12 hours in my AMS HT. I'm using the Bambu P2S's generic ASA filament print profile for both with some tweaks, I boosted the nozzle temp and bed temp to 260 and 102 degrees C respectively. I preheated beforehand for 25 minutes to get the P2S chamber to 51 degrees.

I've got a Voxel Bentobox installed in my P2S running in recirculate mode and a Voxel aftermarket carbon and HEPA filter replacing the Bambu stock carbon filter. I installed the Bambu exhaust fan with the replacement back panel and am running it at 30% and venting it to the outdoors to maintain negative pressure during the print. The internal temperature has stayed at 51 degrees during the print with the 30% fan speed. My cheap indoor air quality monitor for the first 2.5 hours of the print has shown normal levels for all 3 PM levels (1, 2.5, and 10) and TVOC level.

Overall air quality is fine and my Winix room air filter has stayed at normal speed, its built in monitor apparently has not detected higher levels of any substances it needs to ramp up for. I'm thinking that this means I'm fairly safe. Thoughts?

Dual/Tri/Rainbow Filament Recommendations?

What is everyone’s go to non-Bambu matte and silk dual/tri/rainbow filaments? Looking for something that’s a good price and works well with P2S and AMS 2 Pro.

Amazon, Creality, etc.

Rough finishes please help me

I just had a problem with the auxillary fan I printer the diffuser and now i have no clue how to fix this ugly finish.

Can someone help? What can this cause? I've done a lot of things to fix it, but still no progress

I don't really remember since when, but I keep getting this thing that looks weird and has a texture in some cases that you can feel. Also, I'll let you know that I tensioned the belts, cleaned the Z, X, and Y axes, and applied grease on Z and oil on the X and Y Axes. I asked support about this, and they said it could also be an extruder problem because I had a lot of clogs a while ago when I had to open the doors on PETG. In the latest instance, I just pulled the filament without taking apart the head, but it was a clogged extruder, that's for sure. I've done calibration many times.

It's been like only 3 months since I have it.

Which color to choose for printing P2S accessories (like poop chute bin, LCD dust cover etc.)?

I think metalic silver would fit the look and increasing the number of accessories does not create visual clutter. What do you think? Photos are welcomed :)

Bad top surface with Bambulab P2S

Hi all,

I am having a problem with my Bambulab P2S. More specifically, it concerns the quality of the printed surfaces. When I print large areas/long printing lines, everything looks good — see second picture.

However, when I print areas where the print head only makes short movements, gaps between the printed lines are clearly visible — see first picture.

The pictures show the following model:

https://makerworld.com/de/models/953502-collapsible-stack-organizer?from=search#profileId-2668761

Here is some additional information:

  • Both parts were printed on one build plate.
  • I used Bambu Lab PLA Matte, but this issue also occurs with other filament types.
  • The software and firmware are fully up to date.

I have already tried the following:

  • Dried the filament 😉
  • Full calibration
  • Dynamic Flow Control is enabled. However, the issue also occurs with a manually calibrated K value.
  • I also calibrated the flow rate. However, I would rule this out as the cause, since the flow is correct on long printed lines. If I increased it to improve the short lines, too much material would be deposited on the long lines.
  • The print bed was also manually adjusted due to a different issue.
  • Cold pull

What else could be causing my print quality to look this poor? This was not the case at the beginning, in December 2025.

Kind regards,
Marc

Brittle Prints

I am using ABS for this print. Everything is looking like a successful print to the eyes, however, it broke even when I am holding it to remove it from the brim and plate.

IT IS NOT MATTER OF WEAK AREA. THE WHOLE PART IS WEAK.

I attached the photo of the filament and the piece in the comments.

Smooth Plate Options: Bambu Supertack Pro vs. Biqu Glacier/Frostbite vs. ??

Looking to get a plate for smooth surface finishes- primary use would be PLA and some PETG (prob 75% PLA use). I see some feedback on all these options and come across folks having great success with all of them, also a decent amount of issues with each, so looking for feedback from folks have used any/all of these (or any other options out there). TIA!
