Can I cover this part ?

Can I cover this part ?

I have the p2s with the ventilation kit, and currently have this vent covered with tape to prevent any fumes from escaping through it, I also have the poop shoot sealed with a cover. The idea is that it will allow the fan to create negative pressure easier and less fumes will leak out. Is this bad for the printer ? I know that this has been asked already but I couldn't see a clear answer and it has been a bit of time since.

EDIT : the answer seems to be no, thank you to the people that were nice about it

Hardware Help

I just bought a P2S with AMS and a I was inserting a new roll. It seems that a piece of the tape that Bambu labs uses on their filament rolls got caught in the filament inlet. Anyone know how to get it out? I have tried to push it out with no luck.

So I just Joined the Bambu family!

Just went from using Ender 3 V2 and Cura to Bambu P2S and trying to use Orca, and out of the box HOLY CRAP is this easy to print with and turns out GREAT prints! But.... I want to fine tune it. First trying to fine tune my PLA Filaments

  1. Sunlu PLA+ 2.0

  2. Hatchbox PLA Cool Grey

  3. Hatchbox PLA Pink (at LEAST4 years old)

  4. Hatchbox PLA Red (Also at LEAST 4 years old)

This may surprise you but the NEW Hatchbox PLA prints like crap and the OLD Hatchbox prints really well!!! They are a far cry from the Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 Which is just INCREDIBLE!!!!

My question is I am using Orca over LAN and I printed the twmp towers, and now moved on to the Max Flow Rate except...... It doesn't mess up..... I've pri ted the Sunlu twice and thw Hatchbox Grey once, all with 5-20 settings and there are NO problems with my band thing..... so now im printing my 4th one (Sunlu) cranked up to 10-45 (I forgot my second Sunlu went to 30). Is there some way the printer is over riding my Orca settings? Or Am I doing something wrong in Orca where it doesn't actually change the speed of the printer head? I don't think i should be getting perfect prints on test pieces like this. I can post pictures if you like. Any advice helps THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!

Fine, ill make my own X2D ... With blackjack, and hookers!

Chamber hester and exhaust fan installed. Its still missing ... the D (other nozzle) but oh well, atleast ABS will warp less and be stronger. Meme included ofc. Printed in ASA. Here is the link to this: https://makerworld.com/models/2003777?appSharePlatform=copy

It cost about 20-23€ (excluding filament, the power cord and the screws) before the ridiculus 3€ tax, now you are probably better off shilling the extra 10-15€ and have it premade.

One slot in AMS2 Pro won’t load

I just got my P2S after my Qidi Q2 had to go in for repair and im having and issue gegting the ams to load anything into slot 2. It’ll grab the filament and pull it a little bit (as far as the tube below the slot it looks like) and then seems to lose grip and just spins wildly. How can I fix this?

Can't feed PA6-CF with any AMS.

Hi! After upgrading my A1 to a P2S, I tried printing Sunlu PA6-CF as I usually do. But on the P2S, I can't get it to feed properly with my AMS2. The filament reaches the buffer but doesn't grip it correctly. I bought an AMS HT thinking it would fix the problem, but nothing has changed.

Have you ever had this issue, or do you know how to fix it?

Have a good day

Filament feeding problem with AMS2 Pro

Hello guys,

I have a brand new Bamboolab P2s and a AMS2Pro.

I've been trying to print something but Everytime I get the error message that there was filament feeding problem. I've tested different kinds of filament. And it works perfectly fine with the feeding tube that's sitting in the right side of the device.

Its just the AMS2 making problems.

I couldn't find anything and as I said it's brand new device.

Its going all the way to this hub in the back of the device and then just beeing pulled back and then it's looping until it gives feeding error

Anyone faced this?

P2S Ironing Settings First Print

Yesterday I picked up my brand new P2S, my previous printer was an Ender 3 V2, such a nice upgrade.

I printed this USA 250 coaster set, and thought it would be an appropriate time to use the “ironing” settings. Although I’m not too satisfied with the outcome of the ironing. I don’t plan to print another set just for testing but any feedback/calibration models would be greatly appreciated.

Edit…The effect that I am unsatisfied with can be seen by the red border of the coaster and other various places.

Extruder noise

SOLVED: Thanks to everyone for the help. In the end, another 3 or 4 cold pulls did the trick and it started moving. I did it differently than described in the previous post: after feeding the filament into the cold pull, while it was heating the filament, I poked it with the needle, and suddenly the filament started moving.

Hi guys mid print my I got a notification that the filament can’t go out of the nozzle. I have an ams2 pro. I pulled it back loaded again the issue appeard again. Tried an other filament got the same issue. Okay after that I heated up the nozzle try to clean it cleaned but not fully. After that I made 2 cold pull it cleaned everything. Same issue it start to print but no filament goes through the nozzle. After that I dissembled the extruder cleaned up the gears, no filament was found. Put it everything back , and here I’m tried to load the filament from an external pool. And got the same issue so it not the ams2 pro. But I can’t find what’s the issue can you help please ? Here is a video about the sound. Let me know if you have any tip

Thanks !

What Is This Piece?

Yesterday my hot end jammed. It was seemed like it was actually stuck to the extruder, and I've never seen it get jammed that bad before. When I was trying to free it this piece popped off of the top of the hot end. It looks like the plastic broke, as I'm not able to just pop it back on.

I've tried printing again without it, but the filament is feeding outside of the hot end, so I guess this is piece helps guide the filament into the nozzle? At any rate how do I go about fixing this? do I need to order just this part, or does my extruder need to be replaced? Thanks for the help!

AMS 2 Pro: PETG won't load on slots 2 & 3, works fine on 1 & 4

P2S + AMS 2 Pro here. Some of my PETG spools (all Bambu, all with RFID read correctly) refuse to load on the middle slots. During the load sequence where it feeds past the hub and retracts to measure how much is left, the filament retracts too far and just pops out of the feeder. No error, nothing on screen. Move the same spool to slot 1 or 4 and it loads first try.

Here's what I tried today:

* **PETG Black** (new, full spool): failed on slot 2 (multiple attempts), failed on slot 3 (3 attempts), worked on slot 4 first try * **PETG Transparent** (about half used): worked on slot 2 on 2nd attempt. This one gave me the same issue before on slot 3 and I moved it to 4 as a workaround * **PETG Grey**: works on all slots, every time, no issues

Grey and transparent were dried together in the AMS before this. Black was on the external spool holder the whole time, never went through a drying cycle. So it's not a drying/temperature thing. I also tried leaving the lid open for a few minutes between attempts to cool down the chamber — didn't help.

Tried both original Bambu spool holders and custom printed ones, same behavior.

The black spool is the worst - it literally ONLY works on slot 1 or 4. Grey works everywhere. Transparent is somewhere in between.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a fix or is this just how AMS 2 Pro behaves?

I have a video of it spitting the black one out, but unless it's actually relevant, I won't bother with it.

Thank you

i think my nozzle is clogged but im not sure. pls help.

ive got a p2s yesterday, and it was fine i had a small ams clog that i resolved pretty easily, but today i tried swapping filaments from a 0.4 to an 0.2 something i also did yesterday and it worked, and at first it worked today too, then i gone back to an 0.4 and then back again to an 0.2, when i did that i tried printing, but it told me there was too much starin on the drivegear, so i tried tu open the printhead to unclog it but there was absolutely nothing, and then i checked the nozzle and it had this little bit of filament stuck in it

https://preview.redd.it/h6zxllgns3bh1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=56780ce35f0aebac1593b44d7e4b491cfb0546c3

i tried to do a coldpull maneuvre but it didnt work, i did put bACK THE 0.4 and it works fine so this one is probably clogged, how to unclog it in the easyest way and if not a clog then what it is? thx to anyone who answers.

Don't be me, of if you are, take it easy.

Warning, long rant. The last 12 hours have been horrible. And a little exciting.
I'm new at this, obviously, It started before yesterday when I wanted to try to print a little PETG. I have mostly printed PLA. Printed PETG a couple of months ago, but it started to go wrong with the first layer and I stopped (It was the plate, had trouble with PLA also).

So, after 12 hours of drying in the AMS 2. Printed a little outdoor thingy to my golf cart. Went fine.
So, yesterday night I wanted to keep on printing the filament rack (PLA). Put my only non Bambu PLA (bought Sunlu, before getting the printer). Perfect for my rack.

Put the filament in and chose Generic as I always do with these.
Started a print over this night, went up at 4 to change to another part of the rack. Noticed that the plate was unusually hot. The print looked fine.

Started the new part and got an error almost immediately: "The extrusion motor is overloaded". Got a lot of more errors during the coming 12 hours.

The plate was still hot. Looked at the settings. Yes, I had manually chosen Generic PETG.
The filament was stucked. Tried unload in the AMS view. Tried Pulling. And so on. Went to Bambu Wiki and looked, but not so familiar with the English technical terms for the printer yet.
Reddit of course and YouTube.

These things have I done.
Started to loosen the filament cutter. Scary enough for me.
4 screws for the Extruder. But when I tried to take it away, the Filament Sensor cable got loose from it's place. No.

Yes, new videos, new Reddit search. Yes, It looked easy to replace the cable. Wait, it's not easy. Had to take the whole Toolhead housing a part, just to put this little little cable in it's place.
But I couldn't get the PTFE tube to release. So I had to drag the tube, beyond what I wanted and cut the filament. Then the filament was totally stuck in the filament Sensor anyway, so I took a plier and pulled it out.

Okay, took out the gear from the Extruder and it looked fine. At last I could manually draw the end of the filament into the AMS.

Tried to pick a needle in the Hotend that has this filament stucked inside. Nothing happens.
I had a reserve Hotend 0.4 and put it in my P2S. I still have to learn to fix the clog? in the old Hotend.

I just put it all together. Cleaned the plate. Ran a couple of Calibrations.
I just heard the successful sound from the P2S, of a Skadis part I just printed in Brown Bambu Basic PLA.

Conclusion.
Be careful when using non Bambu filament.
A little of the magic thing with the printer is gone.
A lot of experience for future errors I will make, or the machine will create.

Edit: Be careful in the menu's when using other filament. Don't be a fool like me.

Mistake ordering sale price P2S over full price X2D?

Hey all,

I’m sure this has probably been asked before, but I just ordered the P2S Combo since it was on sale. I always admired the P1S so when the P2S was announced, I was really excited about it and had been keeping an eye on it for a while.

After watching more videos about the P2S, I realized the X2D exists, and now I’m second-guessing whether I should be happy with the $700 P2S Combo and take the savings, or return it and spend more on the X2D.

For context, I’ve been 3D printing for a few years on a FlashForge Adventurer 5M, so I know any Bambu printer is going to feel like a big upgrade. I also haven’t really experimented with materials beyond PETG yet. I was excited to get into TPU and ASA, and I was under the impression that the P2S could handle those materials pretty well, but it sounds like the X2D may handle them significantly better.

For those who have experience with both, is the X2D worth the extra money, or should I stick with the P2S Combo and enjoy the savings?

new to PETG

I'm brand new to all of this. I have some PETG coming, which i got because some of the things I want to print will be used in my UTV or on a farm property.

My question is if I have the P2S and AMS2, do I need to get a separate dryer for PETG? seems like both the printer and the AMS can dry it out. But I wanted to ask here and hear what best practices should be.

I'm a hobby printer, not trying to sell or build a printer farm

P2S Optimized Start/End G-code

Hello reddit!

Slightly disappointed by the default startup and nozzle wipe procedure of the P2S, I sat down and optimized the G-code myself.

I have been improving, testing and using my optimized start and end G-code for quite some time now and am pretty happy with the results and the P2S in general now.

So happy in fact, that I feel comfortable sharing the results with you guys! 😄

You'll find everything on Github (including detailed descriptions) if you're interested and possibly want to give it a try:

https://github.com/vxip-code/bambu-p2s-optimized

I have been printing PLA and PETG (and rarely Overture TPU) with it no problem. (However I did not test engineering and high temperature materials.)

If you have any questions feel free to ask!
