Is this normal?
I'm still very new to having my nails always done. And I just got my first new set. I've had to change artists as I moved about 30 minutes from my old one.
Back story: When I first got acrylic put on, she just put the acrylic over my natural nails. Which to me is comfortable. I had grown out my nails so beautifully. They were strong and a good length! Once the acrylic started separating, it was time to get a new set.
This new place tried to pry the acrylic off which hurt like crazy, so I just asked to have them soaked off. Then, they completely cut my nails. They are now completely gone. Cut to the point I can see my nail bed. They also shaved them off (like with the drill thingy, I can't spell), to the point I could feel the drill in my nail beds, all the way down to the cuticle.
I feel like the beautiful, long, strong nails I had worked so hard for are now just gone. They put the plastic nail tips on, put on the acrylic, and did a lovely job painting them. But the frail, splitting nails and the excess glue from the plastic tips is driving my bat shit crazy. It feels like I have splintering tooth picks under my nails at all times.
Am I just being a baby? Is this normal? I'm confused and my tism makes me want to cry.
