Nails super thin

Hi, I’ve been getting acrylic nails and gel for a long time, I did soak these off and picked at some of it off my nails are super thin and flimsy, i’m addicted to getting acrylic nails or gel nails but I feel it’s ruining my nails. Should I take a break from acrylic and just try gel on my natural nails? My boyfriend loves his back scratched but my nails are so thin and flimsy without the acrylic

How bad is it?

It's been many years since I've gotten a full set, and I'm loving having them again.

That said, I'm disappointed in the way they turned out. I went to a salon recommended by a friend who had only gotten pedicures there, which I admit is my fault for not doing more research.

The staff was very nice, my tech tried her best with the design, but the cuticles just look insane to me. They're very jagged, uneven, and I'm concerned about how they will grow out.

Is there anything I can do at home to make them a little less jagged?

That perfect acrylic melt... 🤤✨ #oddlysatisfying

There is nothing more satisfying than watching pure acrylic self-level into that flawless "wet glass" look. 💅✨ No flooding, no bulk, just pure control.

Is this normal?

I'm still very new to having my nails always done. And I just got my first new set. I've had to change artists as I moved about 30 minutes from my old one.

Back story: When I first got acrylic put on, she just put the acrylic over my natural nails. Which to me is comfortable. I had grown out my nails so beautifully. They were strong and a good length! Once the acrylic started separating, it was time to get a new set.

This new place tried to pry the acrylic off which hurt like crazy, so I just asked to have them soaked off. Then, they completely cut my nails. They are now completely gone. Cut to the point I can see my nail bed. They also shaved them off (like with the drill thingy, I can't spell), to the point I could feel the drill in my nail beds, all the way down to the cuticle.

I feel like the beautiful, long, strong nails I had worked so hard for are now just gone. They put the plastic nail tips on, put on the acrylic, and did a lovely job painting them. But the frail, splitting nails and the excess glue from the plastic tips is driving my bat shit crazy. It feels like I have splintering tooth picks under my nails at all times.

Am I just being a baby? Is this normal? I'm confused and my tism makes me want to cry.

Length with least damage?

✨What length enhancement/nail tips are the least damaging to my natural nails?✨
After over 15 years of not using acrylics or any kind of nail enhancement, I treated myself to a full set 2 months ago for my birthday. I got 2 refills after the initial set and at my last fill, the tech told me I would need to remove them next time as they were lifting. (Tbh I had AWFUL experiences at 3 different salons but that’s another story). I removed the myself at home as I know some salons are super rough with removals. I’m shocked and disappointed at how damaged my nails are after only 2 months. I’ve been oiling them every day but they’re in rough condition. But… I feel so much prettier and feminine with long nails. Silly I know.
There seem to be many advancements and new methods to add length to nails so I’m asking for advice.
What do you recommend?

Are my acrylics properly done?

I was not allowed to have nails at my old job because of insecure old ladies so I never really had acrylics done b4 so I’m unsure if they are supposed to be like this. (I got another job a week ago so I went on an expensive vacation to celebrate a bit and decided to get some acrylics done to make myself feel prettier lol) Some nails are sticking up? The left thumb nail is bent to the left, a bit difficult to see on the photo but it looks wrong irl. She said it’s my nails that are shaped like that but I wouldn’t really say that, all of my nails are going straight out in a straight line. My cuticles look genuinely horrible and she didn’t cover all of my nail, mind you I got them done yesterday evening and now it’s 11 am so it’s not my nails/cuticles growing out neither.. And it just looks sloppy in some spots as-well. She also cut me twice but Idk I just might be sensitive.. I got them done in the hotel that I’m staying at and she has around a 10 year experience so I just might be the problem here, which is why I’m asking you/reddit if she did everything properly and if I just have extremely high expectations 🙃 thank you

PS. the hotel Im staying at is for the “rich old people” and I get treated a bit differently (sometimes better sometimes worse) since I am a 20 yo. Idk if this is relevant information but it might be helpful

Just finished this set and I’m kind of obsessed with how soft the colors turned out. The blue + gold combo feels really clean but still interesting.

What do you think?
