I recently bought a 2022 Trident 660 and has been loving it so far. The one thing I don't understand however, is the quickshifter.

It works fine when shifting up. Just give some throttle and pull the lever. The downshifts however confuses me. I also need to give some throttle when going down the gears, which seems silly as I'm usually braking when I downshift.

Is there something wrong with it, or is it supposed to work like that?

One of, if not the outright, best game ever made. It coloured my whole childhood and no matter what I will never get to play it for the first time again.

What I can do though is to watch someone else play it for the first time.

Does anyone know any good playthroughs?

I started watching Kataclysm, but I wouldn't be surprised if she has moons circling around her which ended up being too grating for me.

Years and years ago I watched a playthrough from SnackAttack8, which was quite decent.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I don't really like streams as I often feel their focus is more on the chat than the game.
