Hi,

I've searched for this online and can't seem to find an answer so I thought I'd try to get clarification here.

I waited about 4 years to be assessed on the NHS. I had my (video) appointment in September 2024 and was told they did not think I have ADHD. The reasoning? I did well at school which showed I could function and concentrate there. At the time I asked the assessor to then explain my endless symptoms that correlate with ADHD and his response was "Some of what you've presented to me might indicate Autism but I don't think you have that either." I tried to counter what he was saying but he wasn't having it.

I got on to my GP and asked for a second opinion, privately if necessary. I've asked repeatedly for updates since then (the end of 2024) but it's been crickets.

My question is can I request another assessment under right to choose now or would private assessment be my only option? Thanks in advance.
