Did anyone change their mind on having kids?

Let me start by saying that had I never met my husband, I guarantee I wouldn’t have had kids. We finally had the kids talk a few years ago and I know how bad he wants at least one kid. He comes from a big family and he’s the only sibling without kids, whereas I have one half brother and that’s it.

We reached a compromise on how to go about having kids: I want to adopt an older child who may not otherwise ever have a home and a family, which means a lot to me because my mom was adopted at the age of 6. My husband is onboard with it and now we’re just waiting for the right time in a few years to get the process started. I’m also planning to attend as many parenting classes as possible so I can be the dad I wish I’d had.

I still have my reservations since the adoption process is more complicated as an LGBTQ couple. Whether you’re straight or not, did y’all change your mind about kids because your partner wanted them?
