I’m renting a small house (880 sq ft) from my folks, and my dad has been a bit upset about me having doors closed in the house as the unit and installing was expensive; it’s a long story, but because of something I went through a while ago I’m not at all comfortable with having the door open to my bedroom when I sleep, and I don’t like having the door right in front of it open if I leave my room for anything at night.

So I close two doors in the house before I go to sleep, and open both of them when I get up for the night. It’s small, so there are only three doors in the house.

How much of an issue is this when it comes to the longevity of the unit?
