Animated show set after ROTJ showing us what the OT gang was up. Animated in the clone wars style.
Hi guys, I've been thinking about this for a while now, but I think it would be really cool if disney did an animated show about Luke, Leia, Han, Chew set after the events of ROTJ. Animation has always been a big part of star wars and argubly some of the best star wars projects are animated so i think it makes a lot of sense. It would give them a lot of freedom to explore some new crazy and wacky areas of the Star Wars universe that dont lend themselves well to live action.
I havent really thought of what sort of stories the show should tell specifically but there are smarter people than me out there to figure that out lol.
Another big reason i think this would be a good idea is that it allows Luke, Leia, Han to remain central figures in the star wars universe. A lot of newer/younger star wars fans (especially those that have grown up on the sequels) may not see Luke and co as the main heroes of star wars since they got sidelined in the ST. I think it would a good way to give the new generation of star wars fans their version of clone wars while letting older fans see their childhood heroes on screen again. Also it could help bridge the OT ST gap.
Finally, i think it would also solve a lot of issues regarding disneys de-aging tech (we've seen it in mando and rogue one). A lot of people have issues with recasting in live action (personally i think recasting is a good idea and prefer it to the de-aging of actors) and by doing an animated show they can circumvent this whole debate.
Im curious to hear what other people think about this and if people have other ideas for shows or movies.
Bonus:
if disney wanted to think long term they could cast look-alike actors to voice the OT cast and it would double as a "soft launch" to get fans use to new actors playing old beloved characters (some may disagree with this and prefer, for example Mark Hamill to still voice Luke. I think that would also not be bad idea since it would probaly also help with marketing).
