Both pictures are Iron Ranger resoles with the first image having a heel stack and the second image not having a heel stack.

1. What is the advantage of a heel stack as seen in picture 1? Just the height or looks, ir is there more to it?

2. If the heel and front part of the sole are level in picture 1, how can picture 2 have a level sole without the heel stack since it is the same last?
