Flying Saucer!

It took 2 print attempts for the base, and 4 for the UFO. I had to resize the prints so they would fit the magnetic levitation module. To get the print to run smoothly, through all the filament changes I shuffled the reels to different CFS slots Had to perform preventative maintenance, and ended up ordering replacement parts and filament tubing, since I found out Luminous-PLA is abrasive and can shed particles. The last print went well, with no hitches, after moving the reels. Felt confident to leave the print running, as I caught my vacation flight, and put the monitoring app on my phone.

Rough Print Follow-up

Despite having issues with Creality Luminous-PLA, I tried again to print the UFO. This time I set the printer on 50% speed, and no other settings. There's already a vast improvement in the print quality.

I'm going to have to perform some PM when I get home from my little vacation. Luminous-PLA is abrasive, and I've already fed one reel through the printer, so I'll be replacing the PTFE tubing for the first time, and maybe order a replacement nozzle.

Is the rough texture due to a problem with the printer or typical for the curve as the saucer body approaches the dome. I know that I have to sand and polish.

This was printed horizontally with interior supports. I'm using a K2 SE with CFS
