fps issue with pc upgrade , help/advice appreciated

Hi all,

I recently upgraded my pc to a ryzen 5 9600xt and msi rtx 5070, with 16bg ram. After first boot i decided to play helldivers to benchmark/see my glorious technical boost from my old build but while on ultra settings on native resolution i was getting a consistent 70fps. However, the game is only using 40% of my gpu.

No matter if i turn the graphics down or whatever (even all the way down to low preset) it stays at 70ish fps and utilises 40% or less of my gpu. Ive looked online at benchmarks and im getting mixed signals, i can see people getting over 100 fps on high/ultra settings with around 90% gpu usage, so im confused if im doing something wrong?

I have updated drivers via gerforce experience, and for the game settings i am running at base ultra preset with native resolution and i have fps limit disabled.

I also ran a 3Dmark benchmark and it seemed to be alright, with my pc getting an average score for my build.

Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong/ if this can be fixed?

Hi all,

I understand this question may be bothersome to answer but any help is appreciated greatly.

I built my pc in 2020, it was my first build and it has served me well but I’m now looking to upgrade finally. I am running a 1660 super, Ryzen 5 3600 on a MSI B450 gaming plus max motherboard.

From the research I have done I am thinking of upgrading to a 5060 Ti 16gb for the GPU. But I’m unsure what CPU and motherboard to upgrade to to best suit this. I’ve seen people recommend the Ryzen 5 9600X for CPU but is this a good choice?

To preface, I am looking for the best affordable choice not necessarily the BEST choice if it’s going to be super expensive.

In short, with this GPU choice what CPU and motherboard would you recommend for an affordable build? Any other advice or recommendations is greatly appreciated
