Theory = Chris and Albert are based/inspired of Joestars and Dio Brando from Jojo Bizarre Adventure. What you think about it?
- Resemblance of both character of RE can be connected to Jojo's characters:
Chris Redfield = has some come of honor like Jonathan, rebellious spirit like Joseph and stoic personality with good heart underneath like Jotaro. Body build is kinda all of three but Jonathan seems to be closest to it yet hair/beard color resembles most of Joseph.
Albert Wesker = calculative, ambitious, ruthless, sadistic, power-hungry mastermind, person who was once human and made some relations to his almost equal member of team/coleague, turn himself into monster for power, survive his death and reject humanity for sake of power and his primary goal (or at least in their last appearance) was sort of world domination/overpowering everybody. Possibly unloved and mistreated in past and are disgusted of their supperiors (in his case Ozwell E. Spencer). He's blond, eye color around red to yellow and reccuring color of his outfits - in his case black (that's sounds a lot of like Dio Brando to me)
2) Relationships between Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker seems to be quite complex:
- Chris seems to kinda like Albert at some level yet kinda ridiculed him when he discover his true colors, after this betrayal and endangerment it seems like "generational hatred" as both Chris and Claire encountered Albert, both were mistreated by him and both kinda hating him. Also RE5 even solidifies it as Chris fully desires to eliminate Albert Wesker as much as he can.
- At one hand, Albert completely despise Chris due to disrupting most of his plans however within this darkened heart and mind, there's some sort of honor as he kinda respects Chris Redfield like when he said in Code Veronica: "Chris, since you are one of my best man, i let you dealt with this." before he runs away and then let Claire alone when agrees he wants to face off Chris not Claire. Also i seems to both hate and admire how he is capable of surviving all of these sheninagans and also similarly to Jotaro, he tends to taunts and sadistically play with him both physically and mentally.
3) Their final battle has similarities to those in Stardust Crusaders:
- Chris and Wesker arenť on their journeys alone: Chris is accompained by Sheva, few times Josh, BSAA soldiers and Jill in the end (It feels like Jotaro with his group and Speedwagon Foundation) also Iggy is last member of the group joins in 2nd half of season, similar to Jill joining sides near to the end of Resident Evil 5 Story. Albert is accompanied by Excella, Ricardo and brainswashed Jill Valentine (kinda similar to Polnareff).
- Both storylines are primarly situated in Africa as RE5 happens to be in autnomous zone of Kijuju and Jojo SDC happens mostly in Egypt and final battle happens in Cairo while RE5 final battle happens in volcano.
Also same as in Jojo SDC, in RE5 one of parts of storyline happens on somewhate very dangerous ship.
Also both Albert and Dio transform before final conclusion of battle between Chris and Jotaro, while Dio has stopping time ability, Albert has supernatural speed that feels like sort to teleport and later has Uroboros which kinda can be seen as The World stand. While Chris displays sort of supernatural strength as he bouncing boulder into the lava and it kinda feels like Jotaro/Star Platinum fisting it.
4) Jojo References
No matter if in past or current time, Capcom is aware of existence and influence of Jojo Bizarre Adventure and throught their medias they does Jojo References, in RE in more than once (RE2 OG, RE2 Remake, RE9 and may a lot of more). So i donť see senseless that they took some inspiration from this mostly beloved manga/anime franchise of all time.
Also Capcom originates from Japan, so it makes completely sense too btw.
Of course there's A LOT OF differences between Resident Evil and Jojo Bizarre Adventure but we donť need to take it that serious. That's all i have, if you have more facts or just opinion, please share it but also please, be polite about it, it's just a theory, a REFERENCE THEORY 😎
