Error when booting up with Luma installed

Some time ago, I got a Nintendo 2DS XL with Luma3DS installed from a friend. The program was installed by a relative of his, but the console hasn't properly booted up for several years now.

When I turn it on, the screen lights up a bit (in the sense that it starts working), but seconds after that it gives the error message in the first picture. After looking up the problem online, two possible reasons appeared. One, it might be a problem with the camera, but when I took it to a repair shop, they told me there was no fix, with any more explanations given, from which I understand that it's not a hardware problem.

I'm don't know much about hacks or piracy, but the other reason to this problem that I found online was that it could be due to Luma3DS missing a couple files from the SD card which, in fact, was not even in. So, I firstly checked if it was installed by pressing [Select] while booting, and as shown in the second photo, it was. Then, I got an SD card, formatted it into FAT32 as said in different sources and copied the files boot.3dsx and boot.firm that supposedly were needed for Luma to load properly. Still nothing. Same error.

I've read that the problem might be caused by Luma not being updated, but really, I'd like a specific advice without touching anything that I'm not sure I should.

I just feel like there must be a way to restore it into a working state. This console has an important emotional value for my friend, and, after all this fight of waiting two months for a null professional opinion, I’m genuinely determined to fix it

So, if anyone here could/knew how to help me with this, I would be really thankful.
