I have a background in journalism and currently work in a client-facing sales role where I focus heavily on communication and messaging. I hold a degree in Communication with an emphasis in public relations and journalism, and have continued building those skills through writing and audience-focused work.

I’m currently working to transition into PR or public affairs roles—especially media relations or communications coordinator positions.

I’ve started tailoring my resume and putting together a small portfolio of writing samples from my journalism experience.

For those of you working in PR or communications, what would you say is the most important thing I should focus on next to actually start landing interviews?
