A more OEM looking version of our silicone gasket....

Jeff and I have been working on this removable food-grade silicone gasket for Primo grills (as well as other kamado style grills). This group (among others has provided input and feedback...much appreciated). Wanted to share that one of the pieces of feedback we received was about the "aesthetic" of the gasket (the OG version was reddish/orange - which happened to be the "stock" color of food-grade silicone)

What does this group think? Does the black look more integrated? (no performance difference other than the color of the gasket).

Let me know.

After 11 months of developing a reusable food-grade silicone gasket for ceramic grills, our BGE prototype arrived! Need your honest feedback.

I'm one of the founders building this product. We have learned a lot over the last 11 months and have applied the lessons we learned to this prototype for the Big Green Egg. I'm posting because this community has a lot of experience and insight to offer.

Our goal wasn't to make another gasket—it was to build something reusable that installs in minutes without adhesive. We've got a lot more testing to do, but would appreciate your feedback and input.

We designed a removable silicone gasket for our Primo grills — looking for brutally honest feedback

My friend and I are backyard cooks who got tired of dealing with air leaks around our Primo and burning up the felt gaskets on high-temp cooks. We started experimenting with a removable silicone gasket because we didn't want glue, permanent modifications, or replacing the felt gaskets.

We've built a small batch that a group of early adopters has been testing. Their feedback has already led us to make several improvements to the profile and installation.

Before we invest further, we'd love feedback from this community:

  • Does this solve a real problem?
  • What concerns would you have?
  • What would make you not trust a product like this?

We are not here to spam a product link. We genuinely want the perspective of experienced Primo grill owners."
